The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kloss connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Fernando Fernandes has been cut. Kloss throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fernandes was covering up waiting for the punch and Kloss finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kloss trying to control the position from guard on top but Fernandes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kloss cracks Fernandes with a solid left hand. Kloss stops Fernandes from standing up. Fernandes has momentary wrist control but Kloss slips an elbow through the middle. Kloss stands up over Fernandes, holding his feet. Severino swats away the attempt to clinch by Brown. Brown displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Severino. Severino shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brown is trying to defend but Severino finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Brown pushes Severino off looking to stand but Severino dives back in and keeps control.
Brown holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Severino missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Brown is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Severino is controlling him. Severino postures up.

Brown has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Severino is really squeezing tight and eventually Brown passes out! Severino breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Fettucini thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Samja wants to stand but Fettucini is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samja controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Samja is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fettucini has got one arm under Samja's chin. This could be trouble... Samja trying to control the other hand but Fettucini gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Samja has tapped out! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gabriel shoots in for a double leg but Savage sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Savage closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gabriel to the mat! Gabriel manages to get full guard. Savage content to stall in guard here. Savage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Savage tries to free his leg and advance position but Gabriel is retaining full guard. Savage's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gabriel is trying to keep Savage in close.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gabriel. Gabriel tries to lock up and control but Savage gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Savage lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gabriel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gabriel wants to stand but Savage is controlling his arm. Savage is looking for a sweep. Gabriel tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gabriel goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Savage has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gabriel but great work by Savage. Gabriel tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Savage presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Savage controlling the pace for now. Gabriel is in all sorts of trouble here.

Savage stands up and we're back to a striking position. Ricardinho Gabriel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Savage swats away the attempt to clinch by Gabriel.
