1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zlatan Arshavin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Jackson! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arshavin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Arshavin is in Jackson's guard. Jackson pulls Arshavin in close to prevent any damage. Jackson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arshavin defends it easily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson controls Arshavin momentarily but Arshavin frees himself. Arshavin throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. Arshavin trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Arshavin with a poor takedown and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Arshavin trying to hold on to Jackson's head to control him but Jackson postures up.
Arshavin is not content to let Jackson control the position. Arshavin is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Arshavin avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson wants to pass to mount but Arshavin is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson wants to control but Arshavin is keeping him busy. Arshavin is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jackson working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Arshavin's thigh. Arshavin counters though and makes it back to full guard. Arshavin pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arshavin is keeping the position for now. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jackson won't allow Arshavin to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arshavin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Jackson being controlled here, momentarily. Arshavin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Arshavin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Arshavin is looking to stand up but Jackson won't let him. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Arshavin landing with the ground and pound. Jackson keeping moving, preventing Arshavin from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jackson goes for a double leg but Arshavin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Arshavin continues to drive forward. Jackson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Arshavin throws a body kick that misses. Arshavin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arshavin gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Arshavin defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zlatan Arshavin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Arshavin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Jackson pushes Arshavin up against the cage in a clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Jackson taking a breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arshavin prevents the takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Arshavin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arshavin slows the pace down. Jackson is not content to let Arshavin control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson tries to improve position but can't. Arshavin throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jackson tries to buck Arshavin off but Arshavin is having none of it. Jackson is trying to control Arshavin's posture but Arshavin avoids it. Arshavin wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy. Arshavin lands some shots froms side control. Jackson dodges the ground and pound from Arshavin. Arshavin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jackson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Arshavin but great work by Jackson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arshavin has escaped the position, nice work there. Arshavin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Arshavin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jackson is controlling him well. Jackson throws an elbow but Arshavin slips to the side and avoids it well. Jackson throwing strikes but Arshavin manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Zlatan Arshavin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Arshavin throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Arshavin is dominant here and he's now got Jackson's back! Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Arshavin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Arshavin punishes Jackson with strikes from the back mount. Arshavin trying to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control the hands but Arshavin breaks the grip. Jackson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Arshavin's guard. Nice work there by Jackson.

He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Jackson paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Arshavin - great work!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Primicin looks to clinch and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jones takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Primicin scores with a nice head shot. Primicin looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. Primicin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Primicin. Primicin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Good exchange - Jones coming out on top. Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Primicin is just out of range. Primicin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Primicin lands a lovely overhand right. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Primicin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Primicin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jones sprawling to the canvas! Jones rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Primicin finish him?!
Jones is rocked! Primicin misses with a body shot
letting Jones counter with a right hand. Primicin catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Primicin finish him? Jones lands a nice shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones misses with an uppercut. Jones seems to have recovered his senses. Jones throws a body shot but no joy. Primicin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones . Primicin lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Primicin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Primicin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big left from Primicin misses. Primicin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Primicin has a couple of punches blocked by Jones .

Jones lands with a right to the head. Jones throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Primicins head. Jones presses Primicin against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Primicin is breathing heavily. Jones lands a hook that snaps the head of Primicin backwards. Primicin swings away with an uppercut that misses.

More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Jones lands on the inside with an uppercut. Jones scores with a shoulder strike. Jones stalls. Jones lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Primicin or not.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones pushes Primicin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Jones misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Jones lands a shot to the body. Jones lands with a light punch inside. Primicin prevents a body shot from Jones . Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Jones manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Primicin rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Primicin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ogard throws a hook to the side of Kitano's head but Kitano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kitano slips a jab from Ogard. A counter left hand to the body from Kitano misses its target. Ogard leaves Kitano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kitano takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kitano misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ogard stuffs the takedown. Ogard throws out a counter right but Kitano avoids it with no problem. Kitano misses with a takedown attempt and Ogard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sendou Kitano's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Kitano is breathing heavily. Ogard throws a big shot that misses. Kitano is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ogard misses with a looping left. Ogard looks to land a right hand but Kitano moved out of range. Kitano is looking to clinch.

Ogard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ogard throws a fast counter high kick but Kitano manages to duck under it in time. Kitano fails with the takedown and Ogard counters with a nice uppercut. Kitano keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ogard throws a good cross that connects.
Ogard lands a big uppercut and Kitano crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kitano looks OK. Ogard waves Kitano back to his feet! Oh Kitano is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jeez, Sendou Kitano's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Ogard might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A swing and a miss from Ogard. Ogard throws a looping overhand right but Kitano ducks down to avoid it. Kitano seems to have got his legs back now. Kitano ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ogard drops Kitano with a straight right hand, right on the button! Ogard follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Ogard! Ivan Ogard decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Sendou Kitano was interviewed post fight and said 'Champions get up after taking a fall - trust me, I will get up.'.

Mac closes the distance but Brindle moves to the side so Brindle counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brindle slips nicely into half guard. Brindle prevents Mac from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Brindle seems content to control. Brindle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Brindle not doing much here.

Mac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brindle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brindle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nice strikes from Brindle there. Brindle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mac! Mac taking shots to the head.

It looks like Mystic Mac has been cut. Brindle wants to finish this one by submission but Mac is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Brindle. Mac is still in real trouble! Can Brindle finish him? Mac is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mac really wants to buck Brindle off and get back to his feet. Brindle controlling the pace for now. Mac squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Brindle lands a heavy elbow. Brindle controlling the pace for now. Brindle lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Mac is trying to stand up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brindle looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Mac covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
