And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roland Begovic!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begovic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mitchell.

Begovic tries to keep at a distance but Mitchell has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mitchell tries to break free but Begovic pushes him back against the cage.
Begovic keeps control of Mitchell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mitchell misses with the head strike.

Mitchell throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Begovic blocks it with crossed arms.

Begovic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mitchell throws a lazy right hand but Begovic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Begovic misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Begovic looks to land a left hand but Mitchell moved out of range nicely.
Begovic throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mitchell.
Begovic uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mitchell.
Mitchell loads up on a big right hand but Begovic slips the punch.
Begovic cracks Mitchell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Mitchell was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Mitchell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mitchell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It looked like Mitchell wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Begovic catches Mitchell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
We've been told by Mitchell's head coaches at [LOD]Berlin Giants that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mitchell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mitchell walks into a jab.
Mitchell pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Begovic throws a head kick that misses.
Mitchell throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Begovic has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Mitchell avoids the head kick by Begovic.
Begovic misses with an uppercut
and Mitchell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mitchell moves out of range as Begovic throws a body kick.
The fighters circling - Begovic throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Begovic takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Mitchell lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Begovic defending well as Mitchell loads up on a big left hand.
Mitchell's corner calls for a 1-2. Mitchell obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mitchell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Mitchell ducks under a wild hook from Begovic.
Roland Begovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mitchell misses with a hook
and Begovic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Begovic throws a combination. Mitchell tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Begovic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mitchell. Mitchell circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sloppy strikes from Begovic. Those never looked like landing.

and Begovic counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mitchell scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Begovic doesn't seem bothered though.
Begovic stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Begovic swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mitchell blocks a jab.
Mitchell takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mitchell misses with a looping right.
Begovic misses with an uppercut
and Mitchell counters with a nice body shot.
Begovic throws a head kick that misses.
Mitchell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Begovics jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Begovic misses with a combination
and Mitchell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Begovic is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Mitchell engages and cracks Begovic with a massive lead left hook - Begovic tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Mitchell is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyke Mitchell!
