The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Mera. Stark lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mera circles away quickly and effectively. Mera will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stark looks like he wants to counter punch here. Mera has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Mera. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mera fails with the takedown and Stark counters with a one-two to the body. Mera seems to have got his legs back now. Still in the clinch, Stark scores with a nice short uppercut. Stark lands with a short head shot on the inside. Stark jumps into guard, dragging Mera to the mat.

Stark is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mera pulls his head out easily. Mera is thwarting Stark's attempts to control the position. Mera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mayo tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mayo wants to improve his position but instead Rogers has moved into half guard.
