Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Bimber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Fredo! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fredo tries to keep at a distance but Bimber has taken the fight into the clinch. Bimber goes for a takedown attempt but Fredo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bimber takes one to the side of the head.
Bimber gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bimber lands a takedown into guard.
Bimber stands up over Fredo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fredo has momentary wrist control but Bimber slips an elbow through the middle. Bimber postures up in Fredo's guard and throws a big left but Fredo blocks it. Bimber postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bimber keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fredo's head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fredo is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bimber has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Fredo is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Bimber drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fredo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fredo prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bimber lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fredo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Fredo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bimber. Fredo is trying to control the position but Bimber postures up. Bimber working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Bimber throws an elbow that misses. Fredo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bimber's guard. Nice move by Fredo! Fredo wants to control from the top but Bimber keeps moving. Bimber might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bimber wants to get back to his feet but Fredo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bimber avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fredo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fredo prevents Bimber from getting back to his feet. Fredo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bimber dives on top into guard. Bimber working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fredo's head. Fredo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bimber is looking to work some ground and pound but Fredo has wrist control. Bimber is working Fredo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bimber content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bimber chips away with some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fredo can do anything to dispel that myth. Fredo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fredo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fredo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Bimber throws a strike but Fredo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Fredo looking to pass the guard. Fredo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fredo trying to control but Bimber is working from the bottom. Bimber wants to get back to his feet but Fredo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fredo stays in close to Bimber's body and controls the position. Fredo trying to control but Bimber is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fredo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fredo with a nice head shot there. Fredo trying to control but Bimber is working from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fredo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Bimber dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Fredo gets tackled into the cage by Bimber. Bimber maintains the clinch. Bimber has Fredo pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bimber pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fredo tumbling to the mat - Bimber dives into Fredo's guard. Bimber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fredo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bimber won't allow Fredo to sweep him here. Fredo wants to stand up but Bimber is controlling him. Bimber trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bimber chips away with some ground and pound. Bimber postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Justin Bimber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fredo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fredo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bimber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fredo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bimber. Bimber postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bimber postures up in Fredo's guard and throws a big left but Fredo blocks it. Bimber cracks Fredo with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fredo looking to control.
Bimber makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bimber preventing the sweep. Bimber throws a strike but Fredo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bimber wants to stand but Fredo is controlling the position. Fredo gets to his feet - Bimber follows without any prompting. Bimber clinches up against the cage. Bimber can't get the takedown.
Fredo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bimber is trying to drag Fredo to the mat but Fredo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Bimber has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fredo is looking to break free of the clinch but Bimber has double underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fredo working hard to break the clinch. Fredo tries to pull guard but Bimber won't allow it.
Fredo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bimber closes the distance and clinches. Fredo prevents the takedown attempt.

Fredo manages to land in guard. Fredo kicks Bimber off and gets to his feet. Justin Bimber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fredo punishes Bimber's body with a nice straight punch. Fredo scores with a sloppy right hand. Bimber should have avoided that one. Fredo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Justin Bimber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bimber darts in and clinches Fredo up against the cage. Fredo is trying to pull guard but Bimber turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Fredo is trying to maintain a safe position but Bimber gets an underhook and turns Fredo into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bimber has Fredo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fredo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Fredo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bimber gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fredo breaks from the clinch.
Fredo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bimber shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Left hook, right uppercut from Fredo. Bimber takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Bimber has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fredo finds it's way round the side to connect with Bimber's head. Fredo drops Bimber with a beautiful combination! Bimber stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Fredo is looking for the KO!
Bimber is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fredo is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Bimber hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
