Redlut has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Doos regains guard immediately.
Doos wants to get back to his feet but Redlut is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Let's hope that Redlut has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hoffmeiser darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hoffmeiser with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Melker to score with a decent uppercut.
Melker looks to score with a jab to the body but Hoffmeiser is just out of range.
A little jabbing left from Hoffmeiser on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hoffmeiser throws an overhand right that lands on Melker's shoulder, as Melker tries to avoid the shot.
Hoffmeiser misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Melker.
Melker tries to counter by clinching up but Hoffmeiser breaks away and moves out of range.
Melker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Melker misses with a hook. Hoffmeiser ducked under it nicely.
Hoffmeiser dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Melker closes the distance and clinches.

Hoffmeiser uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Melker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hoffmeiser moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoffmeiser connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Melker's hands.
Melker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hoffmeiser counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Melker thinking.
Melker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hoffmeiser counters with a stiff right hand.

Melker throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hoffmeiser scores with a counter punch that sends Melker to the canvas! Hoffmeiser smells blood - he's punishing Melker with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Melker has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wimmer Hoffmeiser!
A relieved looking Wimmer Hoffmeiser thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Sirakov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vertis pinned against the cage. Vertis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sirakov is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vertis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sirakov's body to avoid the submission. Sirakov has instead reached around Vertis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sirakov arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
