The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tierney connects with a nice looking jab.
Sloppy strikes from Tierney. Those never looked like landing. Tierney tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chair swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tierney looks to score with a jab to the body but Chair is just out of range. Chair takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tierney throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chair. Chair feints the counter takedown. Tierney is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chair drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tierney defends it well. Tierney lands the left hand. Chair has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Tierney tries to bum rush Chair with a series of wild strikes but Chair uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. and Chair counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Chair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tierney swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tierney controls Chair momentarily but Chair frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chair slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Chair pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tierney is keeping the position for now. Chair with a flurry of punches that miss. Tierney trying to keep a closed guard but Chair is proving a slippery customer.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chair. Tierney moves to clinch but Chair breaks away and Chair counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tierney won't be happy with that. Chair tries for a kimura but Tierney is defending well. Chair working away.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Goat, pushing him back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Gracie as Goat tries to tie him up. Goat fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Goat can't find room to land a body shot as Gracie controls the action.
Goat is looking to control Gracie's arms but Gracie gets an underhook and turns him. Now Goat has his back to the cage. Gracie blocking some punches.

He's cranking on it and Goat is forced to tap! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kropelis digs a good body shot into Downes's ribs. Downes scores with a takedown into Kropelis's guard. Kropelis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kropelis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Downes manages to get himself to full guard.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rivera has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kopp tries for a takedown but Rivera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kopp drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rivera is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kopp has been working on his balance at Soul Supremacy Rio, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Rivera. Rivera misses with the head strike.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zimbardo moves away from the strike by Pilegr. Zimbardo goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Zimbardo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Pilegr definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Zimbardo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Pilegr rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Zimbardo counters with a good low kick that Pilegr was not able to check. Zimbardo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pilegr throws a body shot but no joy. Pilegr lands with a nice body punch. Zimbardo throws a combination that misses and Pilegr counters with a crisp right hand that drops Zimbardo! Pilegr lets Zimbardo back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
It looks like Bruce Zimbardo has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zimbardo slips under a jab from Pilegr. Pilegr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pilegr gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Zimbardo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Roos Pilegr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pilegr thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Zimbardo to his feet! Zimbardo is in big trouble!
