Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ned Flanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laggum Vane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. No Rest for the Wicked kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Laggum Vane told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laggum Vane! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flanders drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Vane striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Flanders tries to advance to mount but can't. Vane wants to control but Flanders postures up. Check out the look on Flanders's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Vane tries to improve position but can't. Flanders is trying to get an arm triangle but Vane is defending well. Vane can't do much from the bottom here. Vane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Flanders wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Flanders has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Vane is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Flanders yanks on the arm and Vane is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Flanders.

8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dash! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonesy dodges the punch combination from Dash.
Dash throws a solid leg kick but Jonesy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Dash. Jonesy misses with a looping left. Dash scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A leg kick checked by Jonesy. Jonesy throws a series of punches but Dash moves out of range. Dash misses with a few strikes there.
Dash drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Dash lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Dash lands a jab. Dash shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jonesy is trying to defend but Dash finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Dash looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Dash looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jonesy wants to get back to full guard. Dash throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dash slips a nice elbow through Jonesy's hands, connecting with Jonesy's forehead. Dash is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jonesy is just riding it out for now. Dash eventually gives up the hold. Dash seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jonesy is trying to stand.
Dash seems to be working for a kimura but Jonesy defends the submission attempt. Jonesy won't allow Dash to pass to mount.

Dash throwing strikes but missing. Dash wants to pass the guard but Jonesy is keeping the position. Dash drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jonesy dives on top into guard. Dash wants to sweep but no luck. Dash is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dash has his foot on Jonesy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jonesy works his way back into a safe position though. Dash looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jonesy passes into side control.
Jonesy tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dash's legs. Dash manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jonesy's best efforts. Dash landing rabbit punches to the side of Jonesy's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Jonesy stalling away here and it's allowed Dash to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Dash dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Jonesy counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Jonesy leaves Dash with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A right-left combo lands from Dash. Dash misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dash on the wrong end of a nice jab. Dash cracks Jonesy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Dash shoots for a takedown but Jonesy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dash listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Dash misses with a takedown attempt - Jonesy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bert Jonesy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Dash. Dash throws a shot from downtown. Jonesy moves away and avoids it. Jonesy throws a body kick that misses. Jonesy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dash swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dash misses with a two punch combination.

Dash throws a nice looking combination but Jonesy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bert Jonesy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dash shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dash was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jonesy wants to hold on but Dash pushes him away. Jonesy wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Dash is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jonesy has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jonesy! Dash working for a triangle but Jonesy defends it easily.
Jonesy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dash is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dash had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jonesy defends it easily. Jonesy won't allow Dash to sweep him here. Dash keeping moving, preventing Jonesy from controlling successfully. A close second round but Jim Dash will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Dash is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jonesy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dash. Dash is looking to pass Jonesy's guard but actually Jonesy recovers to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dash drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jonesy dives on top into guard. Dash working for a triangle but Jonesy defends it easily.
Jim Dash has got the better of the ground game so far. Dash working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jonesy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jonesy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jonesy stands and steps away. Dash gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jim Dash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dash fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jonesy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Dash looks to land a combination but Jonesy avoids it well. Bert Jonesy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jonesy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Dash scores with a three punch combo!
Jim Dash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dash will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Dash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fusilli manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fusilli scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like bobby durang has been cut. Fusilli lands an overhand right. A combination from Fusilli does no damage. durang shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fusilli defends it nicely. durang misses with a takedown attempt - Fusilli sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Enzo Fusilli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of bobby durang. durang shoots in and drives through. Fusilli sprawls well. Fusilli defends well against a solid takedown attempt from durang. durang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - durang lands in his opponent's guard. Fusilli is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and durang defends well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fusilli wants to get back to his feet but durang is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. durang stands and throws Fusilli's legs to the side, diving into side control. Fusilli is trying to escape the position but durang is controlling the position. Fusilli tries to get back to half guard but can't. Fusilli is not content to let durang control the position. durang looks gassed! Fusilli tries to improve position but can't. Fusilli is working hard here to advance position. Fusilli regains half guard there - taking advantage of durang's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fusilli makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fusilli. Fusilli is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Fusilli is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst durang is controlling him. Fusilli tries to land a sweep but no joy. Fusilli lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for durang! Fusilli stands up from mount. Strange move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fusilli scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Fusilli is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! durang hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! bazilla shoots in and drives through. Colon sprawls well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Colon looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Colon gets to his feet - bazilla follows without any prompting. bazilla tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Colon clinches up with bazilla and pushes him back against the cage. bazilla is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Colon prevents a takedown attempt there.

Colon has clasped his hands together around bazilla's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Colon is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. bazilla is trying to escape and Colon transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and bazilla is forced to tap! Nice work there by Colon! Very nice indeed!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGirk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mendez. Mendez lands an overhand right. Mendez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McGirk sprawling to the canvas! McGirk rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mendez finish him?!

It looks like Dirt McGirk has been cut. McGirk tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mendez is able to avoid easily. McGirk is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendez finish him? Mendez sends McGirk crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mendez is motioning to the referee to let McGirk up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mendez blocks a leg kick. McGirk tries to bum rush Mendez with a series of wild strikes but Mendez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mendez is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! McGirk hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
