Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Douglas Kopejtka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jetvard Steffensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Steffensen's choice of entrance music: Back in Black. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jetvard Steffensen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopejtka sizes up Steffensen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Steffensen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steffensen looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Steffensen clinches up with Kopejtka and pushes him back against the ropes.

Kopejtka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kopejtka connects with a high kick.

It looks like Jetvard Steffensen has been cut.
Steffensen moves out of range of the strikes.
As Kopejtka backs off Steffensen throws a huge counter combo but Kopejtka manages to avoid it all.
Kopejtka misses with a head kick.
Steffensen throws a wild body kick that Kopejtka sees coming a mile off.
Kopejtka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Steffensen.

Steffensen closes the distance and clinches.
Steffensen throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Steffensen misses with a body punch.
Steffensen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Kopejtka throws an elbow but it's blocked.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steffensen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Steffensen is trying to stall.

Kopejtka manages to break the clinch.
Steffensen blocks a jab.
Kopejtka falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kopejtka takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Steffensen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Steffensen told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Kopejtka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kopejtka, right into the meat.

Kopejtka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Steffensen raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Kopejtka looks to land a combination but Steffensen avoids it well.
Kopejtka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Steffensen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kopejtka lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Steffensen goes down! The ref sends Kopejtka to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Steffensen is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
Kopejtka throws a right hand that Steffensen ducks under and follows up with a left that Steffensen also avoids with ease.
Steffensen throws a counter combo.
Kopejtka lands a right and a left and another right! Steffensen goes down! Oh, he's in big, big trouble! 3,4,5,6,7,8... he's up to one knee... 9,10! He can't beat the count - this one is all over!
