Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Domino Salvo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marc Creagh! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creagh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salvo but Salvo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Creagh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Salvo's half guard. Salvo wants to get back to his feet.
Salvo is looking for a sweep. Creagh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Salvo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Creagh is working away from the top position though. Creagh is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Salvo wants to control but Creagh is keeping busy.
Creagh lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Salvo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Creagh lands with a punch from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvo makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! No luck with that takedown attempt from Salvo. Salvo throws a push kick but Creagh slaps the foot to one side. Creagh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Creagh looks gassed! Creagh tries to clinch but Salvo is having none of it. Creagh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salvo is fending him off so far but Creagh persists. Nope, Salvo circles away and we're back to standing. Domino Salvo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marc Creagh. No luck with that takedown attempt from Salvo. Salvo shoots in for a double leg but Creagh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Salvo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Creagh pinned against the cage. Creagh gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Salvo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salvo wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Creagh as Salvo shoots in. Creagh tries to keep at a distance but Salvo has taken the fight into the clinch. Creagh has Salvo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Salvo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Salvo decides to pull guard. Salvo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Salvo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Salvo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salvo lands in his opponent's guard. Creagh is working an open guard so Salvo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Salvo moves into the clinch. Salvo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Salvo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Creagh is pushing down on Salvo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Salvo is fighting to maintain full guard but Creagh has managed to sneak the leg through. Creagh throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Salvo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Creagh. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salvo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Creagh landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Salvo is looking to escape. Salvo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Creagh.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Salvo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Salvo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Salvo clinches up against the cage. Salvo is working for takedown but Creagh is calmly controlling the position for now. Creagh works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Salvo trying to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Domino Salvo will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Creagh drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Salvo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Salvo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Salvo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Creagh dives in and grabs Salvo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Salvo pushes down on Creagh's head and hops out. Jab by Salvo. Salvo misses with a takedown attempt and Creagh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Salvo's guard. Salvo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Salvo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Creagh lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salvo wants to stand and escape but Creagh is having none of it. Creagh scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Salvo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Creagh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's better than Creagh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Salvo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Creagh. Salvo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Creagh keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Salvo's head. Salvo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Creagh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Creagh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Creagh throws and elbow that misses. Marc Creagh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Salvo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's better than Salvo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Creagh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Creagh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Creagh looking for submissions off his back.
