The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cardoza's sensitive parts.
Cardoza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Joshua tries a quick counter leg kick but Cardoza is wise to it.
Luis Cardoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cardoza shoots for a takedown but Joshua saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cardoza or perhaps it was just good defense by Joshua, which made it look bad.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Joshua lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Huia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Huia is pressed up against the cage. Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Huia down to the mat. Huia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
