The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Hermano has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Hermano throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Crowe was covering up waiting for the punch and Hermano finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Crowe holds on and takes a little breather.
Hermano postures up in Crowe's guard and throws a big left but Crowe blocks it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hermano misses with a hook. Crowe ducked under it nicely.
Crowe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hermano stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Johnny Crowe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Crowe looks to score with a jab to the body but Hermano is just out of range.
Hermano fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Crowe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hermano or perhaps it was just good defense by Crowe, which made it look bad.

Hermano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hermano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Crowe defends well.
Hermano wants to sweep here but Crowe controlling him for the moment.

Hermano is looking to cinch up a triangle. Crowe throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hermano's body to avoid the submission. Hermano has instead reached around Crowe's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hermano arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
