Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Nathan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Huppu Pelikaani!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nathan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pelikaani swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pelikaani is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Nathan with a body shot.
Nathan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pelikaani.
Pelikaani avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pelikaani fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nathan on the side of the head.
Nathan moves in looking to clinch but Pelikaani pushes him off.
Nathan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nathan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pelikaani counters with a stiff right hand.
Nathan misses with a takedown
enabling Pelikaani to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nathan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pelikaani's waist but Pelikaani gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nathan off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Nathan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nathan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The fighters circle momentarily. Pelikaani darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nathan dives in and grabs Pelikaani's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pelikaani pushes down on Nathan's head and hops out.
Nathan takes one on the button.

Nathan is rocked!
Pelikaani is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Pelikaani stuffs the takedown attempt from Nathan. Nathan gets slowly back to his feet.
Pelikaani swats away the attempt to clinch by Nathan.
Nathan moves out of range of the strikes.
Pelikaani keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pelikaani has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Pelikaani feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nathan sprawling to the canvas! Nathan rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pelikaani finish him?!
Oh Nathan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nathan moves into the clinch successfully.
Nathan seems to have got his legs back now.
A left hand lands to the body for Pelikaani.
Pelikaani just leaning against Nathan, taking a breather.
Pelikaani working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Nathan is trying to pull guard but Pelikaani has him pressed against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pelikaani.
Pelikaani softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Nathan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nathan is breathing heavily.
Pelikaani scores with a shot to the side of Nathan's head.

Pelikaani lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Pelikaani just leaning against Nathan, taking a breather.

Pelikaani lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nathan backwards.

Pelikaani stalls.

Pelikaani breaks the clinch.
Nathan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Nathan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pelikaani sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nathan somewhat.
The fighters circling - Pelikaani throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nathan with a lazy takedown attempt
and Pelikaani counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Huppu Pelikaani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pelikaani swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nathan darts in looking for a takedown but Pelikaani gets double underhooks and turns Nathan into the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pelikaani connects with a looping right hand.
Nathan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huppu Pelikaani dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Robert Nathan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nathan misses with a takedown attempt
and Pelikaani counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Pelikaani cracks Nathan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Pelikaani has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Nathan to stand back up!
Pelikaani might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Nathan throws a right hand that misses
and Pelikaani counters with a big left hand that crumples Nathan! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Huppu Pelikaani!
Our winner, Huppu Pelikaani, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Juttu falls off balance throwing a combination

and Spong counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Juttu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Spong is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Spong wants to control from the top but Juttu keeps moving.
Spong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Spong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spong drops back looking for a leg! Juttu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Juttu manages to kick Spong off! Spong jumps back into Juttu's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Spong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Spong controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Juttu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Spong drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Spong seems to have locked his on tight now - Juttu screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Spong, as he picks up the win!
