Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leonard Hoyt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Canuto! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoyt leaves Canuto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Canuto avoids the head kick by Hoyt.
Hoyt wants to clinch up but Canuto keeps it at a distance. Hoyt throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Canuto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hoyt swivels and escapes. Hoyt scores with a three punch combo!

Canuto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Canuto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hoyt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Canuto advances nicely into full mount. Canuto jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hoyt is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hoyt and Canuto has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Canuto swings around for an armbar but Hoyt sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Canuto's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Canuto looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoyt wants to control from the top but Canuto keeps moving. Hoyt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Canuto keeping moving, preventing Hoyt from controlling successfully. Canuto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hoyt is aware though and is defending well. Hoyt trying to control but Canuto is working from the bottom. Canuto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hoyt defends it easily. Canuto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hoyt defends well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hoyt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hoyt tries to clinch there but Canuto circles away.

Canuto is backing up but Hoyt catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Canuto covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Hoyt Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Raynolds pushes Dante against the cage but Dante circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dante tries to clinch up. Raynolds has a takedown stuffed. Dante defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Raynolds. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Raynolds. That's going to take a lot out of him. Raynolds fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Raynolds. Raynolds looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Raynolds throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dante's waist but Dante gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raynolds off to one side. Dante moves into the clinch. Dante wants to break the clinch but can't.

Dante stuffs the takedown attempt from Raynolds. Raynolds gets slowly back to his feet. Raynolds fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dante lands with a thumping leg kick.
Dante misses with a body kick. Dante tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raynolds paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dante scores with a one two! Raynolds had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Dante tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Raynolds keeps the fight on the outside. Dante tries to clinch up. Raynolds dives in and grabs Dante's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dante pushes down on Raynolds's head and hops out. Dante fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Raynolds. Dante lands a nice hook to Raynolds's body. Raynolds takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ducci Dante showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We're back to striking at a distance. Raynolds on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Raynolds closes the distance and clinches up with Dante, looking for a takedown. Raynolds pushes Dante against the cage but Dante circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Raynolds crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dante - the referee stops the clock and Raynolds gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dante. Raynolds manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Raynolds keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Raynolds will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Dante moves in looking to clinch but Raynolds pushes him off. Dante has closed the distance and engaged Raynolds in a clinch.

Dante tries to land knees in the clinch but Raynolds avoids the damage to the body. Dante utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Raynolds keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dante's efforts to push away. Raynolds drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dante gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight! Ducci Dante comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Dante winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Heartman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bam can do anything to dispel that myth. Heartman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Heartman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bam is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bam is trying to stick to Heartman's back but Heartman is turning into Bam. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bam's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Heartman. Heartman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bam swivels though and keeps the full guard. Heartman won't allow Bam to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Heartman wants to pass the guard but Bam is keeping the position. Heartman passes Bam's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Heartman seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bam is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Hitana defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Galvao. Hitana throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Galvao swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hitana scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Hitana lands with a straight right. Galvao didn't see that one coming. Hitana tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hitana feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Galvao's calf.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dog scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. The fight moves into the clinch position. Dog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dog throws a head kick but Sedin moves out of range.
Dog decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Dog wants to control but Sedin is keeping him busy. Sedin pushes Dog off looking to stand but Dog dives back in and keeps control.
Dog wants to take a breather but Sedin is having none of it. Sedin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dog. Dog looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. It looks like Dog is going to stand back up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sforza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gardens. Sforza connects with a crisp jab. Gardens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sforza as he jumps to the side. Sforza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gardens circles away quickly and effectively. Gardens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sforza avoids it really well and circles away. Gardens tries for a takedown but Sforza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Gardens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sforza has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gardens finds it's way round the side to connect with Sforza's head. Gardens uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sforza. Gardens closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. A bit of a lull in the action here. Gardens looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sforza can do anything to dispel that myth. Gardens is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sforza has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gardens in side control, throwing shots but Sforza defends. Gardens trying to control the position but Sforza is working away. Sforza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gardens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gardens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sforza sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The ground and pound from Gardens seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Sforza is positioning himself to get back to half guard. I wouldn't like to be where Sforza is right now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gardens takes a swing at Sforza's ribcage but misses. Sforza is fending him off so far but Gardens persists. Nope, Sforza circles away and we're back to standing. Sforza will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sforza lands a left and a right that send Gardens crashing to the mat, dazed. Sforza thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gardens is rocked! Sforza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gardens moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gardens misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sforza scores with a punch to the head. Oh Gardens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sforza misses with the combination.

He's obviously looking to slow Couture down. Couture closes the distance looking to clinch and Amir moves into the clinch. Couture tries to stall but Amir uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Couture's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Couture. Couture throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Amirs head. Couture stalling the fight.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Robert Couture. Amir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Amir wants to clinch up but Couture keeps it at a distance. Amir connects with a solid leg kick. Couture shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amir napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Couture misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Amir misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That was a close round but I would say that Sadollah Amir will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Robert Couture's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Amir is refusing to be controlled, as Couture sits in half guard. Amir gets full guard. Couture trying to control but Amir is working from the bottom. Couture must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Couture with a flurry of punches that miss. Couture got a little sloppy there for a moment and Amir has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Couture has managed to get both his arms back between Amir's legs - danger averted. Couture tries to free his leg and advance position but Amir is retaining full guard. Couture really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Couture is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Amir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Couture gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Couture trying to control but Amir is working from the bottom. Couture loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That could spell trouble for Couture! Couture tries to hold on but Amir pushes him away. Amir is working for a guillotine from mount but Couture frees his head quite easily.
Couture tries to get back to half guard but can't. Amir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Amir can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Couture is looking to escape. Couture tries to hold on but Amir pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Couture is looking to improve his position but Amir isn't that keen on the idea. Amir avoids the attempt from Couture to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Amir has control of Couture's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Couture regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Amir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sadollah Amir dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Robert Couture's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Couture bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A combination from Couture does no damage. Couture changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amir tries to avoid it but Couture manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amir to the ground. Amir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Couture pushes Amir up against the cage in a clinch. Couture softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Couture throws a head punch that misses. Amir tries to land knees in the clinch but Couture avoids the damage to the body. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Amir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Couture swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Amir counters with a head kick. That will keep Couture thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Couture gets off balance looking for a body kick and Amir counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Sadollah Amir is winning the standup battle so far. Couture is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Amir. A solid leg kick lands there for Amir.

That's one minute gone in the round. Couture misses with an uppercut. Amir blocks a jab. Couture might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Amir throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Couture's head. Couture wants to clinch but Amir slips to the side and Amir counters with a big head kick but Couture shrugs it off.
That has opened up Robert Couture's cut even more. Couture looks to land a left hand but Amir moved out of range nicely. Couture avoids the head kick by Amir.

Couture misses with a looping left. Couture looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Amir takes one on the button. Couture dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Couture shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Amir sprawls well. Amir wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Couture gets slowly back to his feet. Couture shoots in for a takedown but Amir shows good takedown defense. Sadollah Amir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Couture. Couture takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Couture tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A low kick from Couture misses and Amir counters with an outside leg kick.
Amir uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Couture. Amir moves away from the strike by Couture. Amir takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Couture scores with a nice right hand.
Amir shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Couture throws a series of punches but Amir avoids them all with ease. Amir defending well as Couture loads up on a big left hand. Couture looks to land a right hand but Amir moved out of range. Amir tries a head kick but it misses.

and Amir counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Couture is lucky that one didn't land flush. Couture rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Amir moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Amir avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Couture drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Couture is looking to take a break and control but Amir is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Robert Couture has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Couture working away. Couture lands a decent elbow from side control. Couture trying to control the action but Amir is working from the bottom. Couture scoring with punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Amir sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Sadollah Amir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Amir controlling the position well. Couture lands with a punch from half guard. Amir trying to hold on to Couture's head to control him but Couture postures up.
Couture lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Couture throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Amir makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Amir. Amir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Sadollah Amir showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Amir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Boy forces his way into half guard. Tager is not content to let Boy control the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boy wants to pass to mount but Tager is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Iron Tager will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Boy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tager decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boy's guard. Tager drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tager jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Boy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle.
