Foster looks to score with a jab to the body but McPee is just out of range. A jab from McPee misses. McPee catches Foster napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Foster to the canvas!
Foster is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Foster is looking to sinch up a triangle. McPee throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Foster's body to avoid the submission. Foster has instead reached around McPee's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Foster arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Newell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Meldir tries to roll over but Newell keeps him under control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Meldir tries to kick Newell off but Newell keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Meldir landing small, sideways elbows. Meldir is refusing to be controlled, as Newell sits in half guard. Newell performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Newell stalling away here and it's allowed Meldir to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Newell swats away the attempt to clinch by Meldir. Meldir throws a hook to the side of Newell's head but Newell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Meldir has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Newell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A nice left hand lands by Meldir.
Meldir gets a trip takedown into half guard. Meldir throwing shots but Newell is blocking nicely. Meldir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Newell wants to control the action here but instead Meldir manages to pass to full mount! Newell wants to hold on but Meldir pushes him away. Meldir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Newell wants to control but Meldir is having none of it.

Newell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Newell takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Meldir's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rekker moves out of range of the strikes. Stageberg misses with a jab, cross combination.

Rekker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stageberg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rekker prevents Stageberg from escaping the position. Rekker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rekker in side control, working for a kimura.
