The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaspov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Noonan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A quick step to the side and Noonan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Kaspov throws a series of strikes that have Noonan backpedaling.
It looks like Michael Noonan has been cut. Kaspov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Noonan is trying to stand up here but Kaspov is controlling him well. Noonan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kaspov looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Kaspov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phoenix lands a really nice looking cross but Ruzic seems unphased.
It looks like Josip Ruzic has been cut. Phoenix bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ruzic's head. Ruzic wants to clinch up but Phoenix keeps it at a distance. Phoenix throws a combination. Ruzic tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ruzic moves into the clinch successfully.
A nice right hand lands inside from Phoenix. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Phoenix just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ruzic's brow. Phoenix misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ruzic avoids a wild elbow strike from Phoenix. Phoenix lands a body punch. Phoenix lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ruzic blocks an elbow strike from Phoenix.
Ruzic tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Phoenix smiles and moves away.
Phoenix misses with an uppercut. Phoenix looks to score with a jab to the body but Ruzic is just out of range. Phoenix has been working on his boxing with his coaches at *Shrug* in the buildup to the fight. Phoenix lands with an overhand left. Ruzic shoots in looking for a takedown but Phoenix manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ruzic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ruzic. Ruzic circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ruzic drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Phoenix swings for the body but Ruzic moves out of range.
Ruzic throws a sloppy head kick and Phoenix moves out of range easily. A chopping leg kick lands by Phoenix. Phoenix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruzic moves away. Ruzic is looking to clinch but Phoenix is avoiding it.
Phoenix jabs at Ruzic's body. Ruzic has a takedown stuffed. Parker Phoenix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josip Ruzic. Ruzic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Phoenix. Ruzic wants to counter with a clinch but Phoenix pushes him away. Ruzic tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Phoenix counters with a nice uppercut. Phoenix fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ruzic looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ruzic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
As Phoenix backs off Ruzic throws a huge counter combo but Phoenix manages to avoid it all. Good shot there by Phoenix. Phoenix drives through and clinches with Ruzic against the cage.

Ruzic tries to break the clinch but Phoenix is controlling the position. Ruzic blocks an elbow strike. Phoenix lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ruzic backwards. Phoenix misses with an elbow strike.
Phoenix presses Ruzic against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Phoenix lands an elbow inside that Ruzic shrugs off.
That has opened up Josip Ruzic's cut even more. Phoenix misses with a punch on the inside.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix scores with an uppercut up the middle. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Phoenix creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Phoenix misses with an elbow over the top. Ruzic manages to break the clinch.

Ruzic scores to the head and body with a nice combination! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Phoenix stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Phoenix wants it to stay on the feet. Phoenix misses with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruzic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Phoenix avoids it really well and circles away. Ruzic shoots in for a double leg but Phoenix sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ruzic shoots in looking for a takedown. Phoenix tries to sprawl out of it but Ruzic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Phoenix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Phoenix was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Phoenix fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ruzic tries a head kick but it misses.
Phoenix scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ruzic doesn't seem bothered though. Phoenix connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ruzic. Ruzic circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Phoenix clobbers Ruzic with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ruzic is rocked! Ruzic tries to get into range but Phoenix steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Ruzic! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Phoenix scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Parker Phoenix! Parker Phoenix gave a mention to Flying Knee Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hall lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hall leaning his opponent against the cage. Hall stops a takedown attempt from Nikitin.
Hall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nikitin with a lazy takedown attempt and Nikitin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nikitin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nikitin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hall works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nikitin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nikitin scoring with punches to the head and body. Hall is trying to keep Nikitin in close.
Hall has his foot on Nikitin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nikitin works his way back into a safe position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nikitin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Nikitin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nikitin controlling from the top position. Nikitin tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard. Nikitin connects with a couple of short punches. Nikitin controlling from the top position. Hall looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nikitin passes into side control.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Nikitin wants to control but Hall is keeping him busy. Hall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Nikitin is trying to control the action in half guard but Hall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nikitin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nikitin drops an elbow to the side of Hall's head. Nikitin trying to control the action but Hall is working from the bottom. Hall taking some punishment here, with Nikitin in his half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Nikitin is just content to waste time from the top position. Hall takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Nikitin controlling from the top position. Hall is trying to keep Nikitin in close.
Nikitin wants to control from the top but Hall keeps moving. Hall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nikitin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nikitin wants to pass the guard but Hall is keeping the position.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Nikitin is looking to work some ground and pound but Hall has wrist control. Nikitin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Nikitin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Hall regains half guard there - taking advantage of Nikitin's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Nikitin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. We've been hearing that Nikitin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Nikitin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hall is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nikitin pulls his head out easily. Nikitin content to control rather than advance. Nikitin is keen to just control but Hall is a slippery customer.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Nikitin misses the shot to the body. Hall was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Hall lands the left hand. Nikitin avoids the head kick by Hall.

and Hall counters with a nice uppercut. Nikitin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nikitin takes a swing at Hall's ribcage but misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Nikitin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Alexandr Nikitin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nikitin misses with a few strikes there.
A little jabbing left from Hall on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hall lands with a straight right. Nikitin didn't see that one coming. Nikitin throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Justin Hall. I think Hall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hale defending well as Crash loads up on a big left hand. Hale delivers a nice body kick. Nice uppercut there from Hale. Hale has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Crash is landing a low percentage of strikes. Hale scores with a sloppy right hand. Crash should have avoided that one. Crash's corner calls for a 1-2. Crash obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hale saw that one coming. Hale lands a big head kick that sends Crash tumbling to the mat! Hale takes a step backwards and waves Crash back to his feet - he wants the finish!

A low kick from DeVanzo is predictable there and Thrul counters with a nice double leg into side control. DeVanzo won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thrul fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Thrul tries to land a sweep but no joy. DeVanzo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Thrul lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

DeVanzo gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Thrul doesn't seem too bothered but DeVanzo quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Thrul is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Thrul really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.

27 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Beast! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grice cracks Beast with an open hand slap. Beast lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Grice scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Beast tests Grice's chin there with a solid looking shot. Beast uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Grice.
A looping hook to the body misses from Grice. Beast does a little dance to reset his feet. That kick from Beast tenderised Grice's leg. Grice is trying to keep his angry face on. Grice looks to throw the jab but Beast is out of range. Grice throws a solid leg kick but Beast takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Grice. Beast lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Grice takes a swing at Beast's ribcage but misses. Grice keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Grice misses its target. Beast throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. This has been an exciting period of action! Beast jabbing away but nothing is landing. Grice lets loose with a powerful body kick. Beast will feel that in the morning. Beast lands a big head kick that sends Grice tumbling to the mat! Beast takes a step backwards and waves Grice back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Grice is rocked! Beast takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Oh Grice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A slapping leg kick lands for Beast.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grice lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Beast fakes the body blow, causing Grice to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Grice goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Billy Beast! An intense looking Billy Beast took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I'm bad, I know it. I'm bad, I show it.'. Gary Grice was interviewed post fight and said 'Wu Tang fuh evah!'.

40 - 22 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hilton Teimosia! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab by Teimosia. Teimosia gets a clinch. Teimosia tries a body shot but Gutz blocks it.
Teimosia misses with a hook from the clinch. Teimosia throws a head punch that misses. Teimosia can't find room to land a body shot as Gutz controls the action.
Gutz misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gutz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gutz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Teimosia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Teimosia keeps Gutz at a distance using the push kick. Gutz with a hook. Teimosia fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gutz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Teimosia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gutz wants to land a leg kick but Teimosia is out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Teimosia throws a leg kick but Gutz moved away. Teimosia takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gutz blocks a jab. Teimosia takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Teimosia missing with a left hand there. Gutz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Teimosia throws out a loose jab but Gutz uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Gutz. Teimosia avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Teimosia throws a lazy uppercut
and Gutz counters with a straight right hand. Gutz pounces like a tiger and cracks Teimosia with a vicious hook! Teimosia is down but not out! Gutz follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Cormac Gutz! A very excited looking Cormac Gutz rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
