6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bimbo Slide! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slide works over Anselmo's head and body with a nice combination. Anselmo tries a head kick but it misses.
Slide keeps the fight on the outside. Anselmo doesn't manage to clinch there - Slide circles away.
A left and a right from Slide both land. Nice combination. Anselmo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slide fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Anselmo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Anselmo shoots in looking for a takedown. Slide tries to sprawl out of it but Anselmo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slide manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Anselmo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Slide counters with a three punch combo that has Anselmo backing up. Anselmo nods at Slide to acknowledge the strikes. Slide swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Anselmo throws a head kick that misses and Slide makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Anselmo misses with a double jab
and Slide counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slide's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Slide has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Slide preventing the sweep. Slide is stalling in the full guard. Anselmo wants to sweep but no luck. Slide stays in close to Anselmo's body and controls the position. Slide stopping the sweep attempt from Anselmo. Slide with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Slide pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Anselmo is keeping the position for now. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Slide slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Slide missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Slide wants to control from the top but Anselmo keeps moving. Slide controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Despite being in the dominant position, Bimbo Slide just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slide rushes Anselmo and presses him up against the cage. Slide breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Slide closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Anselmo to the mat! Anselmo manages to get full guard. Slide not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slide passes Anselmo's left leg - he's now in half guard. Anselmo is looking to control Slide's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Anselmo avoid being mounted? Anselmo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Anselmo has a hand on Slide's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Slide takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Slide tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Anselmo is trying to escape the mount.

Bimbo Slide dominated that round. That's time! Anselmo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Anselmo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Slide counters with a straight right hand. Slide lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Slide, right into the meat.
Phillip Anselmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slide rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Anselmo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fight moves into the clinch position. Slide breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Slide looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Anselmo wants to clinch and Slide counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Anselmo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. A head kick by Anselmo misses and Slide counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Some wild striking there from Slide.
Slide gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slide breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice inside leg kick there by Slide. That's going to slow Anselmo down. Slide throws a series of punches but Anselmo moves out of range. Nice body kick from Slide. Bimbo Slide seems to be getting the better of the standup. Anselmo ducks right into an uppercut from Slide. Anselmo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Slide has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Slide closes the distance and lands a one-two. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anselmo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Slide lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Slide cracks Anselmo with a right hand to the side of the head. Slide lands with a straight right. Anselmo didn't see that one coming. Slide lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Slide.

Anselmo with a poor takedown and Slide counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anselmo's guard now. Slide tries to free his leg and advance position but Anselmo is retaining full guard. Slide controlling from the top position. Anselmo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Anselmo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Slide puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Anselmo wants to control but Slide is keeping busy and won't allow it. Slide content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Anselmo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slide.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Anselmo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Slide slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Slide lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Slide seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Slide's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Slide won't allow Anselmo to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Anselmo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Anselmo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Slide is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Anselmo wants to sweep here but Slide controlling him for the moment. Slide stalks Anselmo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anselmo's face. Anselmo staggers backwards, shaken. A combination from Slide does no damage. Slide swinging wildly here.
Slide shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slide was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Slide working away from the top, dropping strikes. Slide looking to control and managing it successfully. Anselmo gets back to half guard. Phillip Anselmo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Slide looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Slide trying to pass the guard but Anselmo defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

And that's the end of the fight! Bimbo Slide comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Slide has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Marks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McPoppins pulls his head out easily. McPoppins wants to take a breather but Marks is having none of it. McPoppins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Marks keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. McPoppins is looking to take a break and control but Marks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Marks trying to hold on to McPoppins's head to control him but McPoppins postures up.
Marks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. McPoppins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marks keeps working. He's pushed Stone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Whack! Struker lands a heavy head kick that drops Stone. The ref tackles Struker to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Stone was done.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Didymus throws a lazy right hand but Takata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Takata tests Didymus's chin there with a solid looking shot. Didymus checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A big left from Takata misses. Takata fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Didymus checks it well. Takata tries to bum rush Didymus with a series of wild strikes but Didymus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Didymus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Takata is desperately trying to improve his position but Didymus has a good base and remains in mount. Didymus is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Takata has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shinya Takata will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Dayne feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Masterson sprawling to the canvas! Masterson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dayne finish him?!
