The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurmond misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Thurmond shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A head kick by Thurmond misses
and Silva counters with a one-two to the body.
Thurmond tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva is looking to counter punch.
Thurmond swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Thurmond throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Thurmond throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Silva counters with a straight right hand.
Thurmond misses with a hook to the body
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Silva lands a left and a right that sends Thurmond crashing to the canvas! Silva dives into mount looking to finish!

Klimt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lefebvre swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lefebvre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Klimt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Klimt wants to control but Lefebvre postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lefebvre is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Klimt looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lefebvre gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Klimt is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lefebvre lets go of the hold and Klimt can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Pennypacker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yikes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pennypacker is in Yikes's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that AG Pennypacker will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pennypacker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters circling - Yikes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Yikes cracks Pennypacker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kyle Yikes seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Yikes drops Pennypacker with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pennypacker looks back up at him and smiles so Yikes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Yikes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh Pennypacker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Yikes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pennypacker.
Pennypacker shoots in looking for a takedown but Yikes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pennypacker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Yikes throws out a counter right but Pennypacker avoids it with no problem.

Yikes cracks Pennypacker with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Yikes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pennypacker to stand back up!
Yikes throws a hook to the side of Pennypacker's head but Pennypacker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Yikes walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Pennypacker drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Yikes swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Pennypacker's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
