The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abdoul on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Abdoul darts in looking for a takedown but Taro gets double underhooks and turns Abdoul into the cage. Abdoul misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A swing and a miss from Taro. Taro lands a jab-cross combination. Taro ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Abdoul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Taro appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Abdoul tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Taro lands a nice looking body shot.

Taro thumps Abdoul with a low kick. Taro works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Abdoul is still on wobbly legs! Can Taro finish him? Abdoul needs to keep his hands up - Taro had a free shot at his head there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taro scores with a jab. Abdoul acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Abdoul gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Taro gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matsuda Taro! Matsuda Taro spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Dillon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Picker. Dillon throws a leg kick which misses Picker's front leg but catches the back leg as Picker tries to avoid it. Picker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dillon sees it coming and avoids it easily. Picker will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Dillon cracks Picker with a right hand to the side of the head. Picker throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A shot to the body from Picker misses and Dillon counters with a leg kick. Picker on the wrong end of a nice low kick. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horvath ducks right into an uppercut from Martinez. A nice inside leg kick there by Horvath. That's going to slow Martinez down. Martinez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Horvath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Horvath throws a head kick that misses and Martinez counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Martinez is pushing Horvath up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Martinez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Horvath gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Martinez just leaning against Horvath, taking a breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez is trying to drag Horvath to the mat but Horvath just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Martinez has Horvath pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Horvath manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Miklos Horvath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osvaldo Martinez.

I was talking to Horvath's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Martinez has Horvath pushed against the cage. Horvath is fighting off a takedown attempt but Martinez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Horvath to the mat. Horvath regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Martinez working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Martinez passes Horvath's left leg - he's now in half guard. Horvath avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martinez. Martinez is stalling here. Horvath is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Martinez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Horvath has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Martinez tries to buck Horvath off but Horvath is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Martinez is not content to let Horvath control the position. Horvath takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Martinez works his way to full guard. Good work. Martinez trying to strike off his back.

Scorpion does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. That's one minute gone in the round. Blake wants to clinch. Nicu flicks out a counter leg kick but Blake steps away. Blake closes the distance and pushes Nicu back into the cage. Blake misses with a short punch on the inside. Blake lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Blake. Blake lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Blake blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Nicu breaks the clinch.
Blake thows a left - swing and a miss! Nicu connects with a body shot that sends Blake's belly button to the back. Blake drops Nicu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nicu looks back up at him and smiles so Blake waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Nicu is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nicu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Nicu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blake looks to land a right hand but Nicu moved out of range. Nicu getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Nicu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Blake is looking to counter punch. Blake throws a hook to the side of Nicu's head but Nicu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nicu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A shot to the liver by Nicu. Beautiful body shot. Blake lands with a right hand. Nicu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. As Nicu tries to get set, Blake tries to push him back and clinch up but Nicu manages to avoid the attempt. A telegraphed right hand from Blake misses the target. Blake moves into range and connects with a jab. Nicu staying out of range there. Nicu misses with a head kick.
Blake is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Nicu. Blake throws out a loose jab but Nicu uses good head movement to avoid it. Nicu works Blake's body with a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicu throws a head kick but Blake moves out of range.
Blake was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Nicu scores with a head kick. Blake tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Blake throws a combination that misses and Nicu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Blake fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nicu is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Blake misses with a leg kick. Blake wants to clinch and Nicu counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blake thinking. Nicu throws a low kick, looking for Blake's leg but Blake calmly moves out of range. Blake takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nicu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blake moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nicu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Blake avoids the head kick by Nicu.
Blake throwing a counter right hand but Nicu manages to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Nicu. Nicu with a hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nicu with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Blake throws a body punch but Nicu moves out of range. Nicu circles away from the clinch attempt and Nicu counters with a big head kick but Blake shrugs it off. Blake misses with an uppercut. Nicu only half commits to the counter leg kick. Nicu lands a head kick. Blake smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Blake is rocked!
It looks like Jake Blake has been cut. Nicu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nicu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nicu throws a big counter head kick but Blake avoids it with no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Iosue Nicu will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!

Blake with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jake Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nicu connects with a body shot. Nicu throws a sloppy head kick and Blake counters with a lovely shot to the body. Blake connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Blake lands a jab to the nose. Blake moves in looking to clinch but Nicu pushes him off. Nicu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Blake drops his hands momentarily and Nicu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nicu is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Blake rather than just go for the knockout. Blake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nicu. Nicu throws a sloppy head kick and Blake moves out of range easily. Blake moves out of range of the body kick from Nicu.
This has been an exciting period of action! Blake lands with a shot to the body. Nicu on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That has opened up Iosue Nicu's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nicu digs a good body shot into Blake's ribs. A solid leg kick lands there for Nicu.
Blake slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nicu is still on wobbly legs! Can Blake finish him? Blake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nicu manages to avoid it. Nicu avoids the body shot from Blake.
Nicu seems to have recovered his senses. Nicu looks to score with a jab to the body but Blake is just out of range. Blake is looking to counter punch. Nicu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Blake sends Nicu crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Blake is motioning to the referee to let Nicu up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! This has been an exciting period of action! Nicu cracks the inside of Blake's front leg. Nicu misses with a kick to the body.
Blake throws a body shot but no joy. Blake misses with a series of wild punches.

The cut above Iosue Nicu's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Nicu has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Blake. Blake cracks Nicu with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Nicu looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Blake finish him?
Nicu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Blakes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Blake needs to keep his hands up - Nicu had a free shot at his head there. Nicu throws a sloppy head kick and Blake moves out of range easily. Blake fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Blake misses with a straight left. Blake lands a big head kick that sends Nicu tumbling to the mat! Blake takes a step backwards and waves Nicu back to his feet - he wants the finish! Blake closes the distance but Nicu moves to the side and Nicu counters with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicu lands with an uppercut that bounces Blake off the cage and back into range. Blake lands a lovely overhand right.
Iosue Nicu's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Blake fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Nicu out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Jake Blake! Jake Blake retains his light heavyweight title!
