Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Huck Filter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kevin Johnson! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a body shot but no joy. Filter misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Filter.
Johnson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Filter counters with a nice uppercut. Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss. Filter went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Johnson shoots in and drives through. Filter sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Filter throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Left hook, right uppercut from Filter.
It looks like Kevin Johnson has been cut. Kevin Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Filter defends it nicely. Huck Filter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Johnson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries for a takedown but Filter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Filter's waist but Filter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. Johnson is looking to clinch. Johnson tries for a takedown but Filter circles away easily and Filter counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson. Johnson has his takedown stuffed and Filter counters with a two punch combo. No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt. Johnson looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Filter throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Filter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Filter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Johnson is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Filter circles away from the clinch attempt and Filter counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Johnson off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Filter follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Johnson was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Huck Filter!

It looks like Bayard Lefebvre has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Slevin misses the target. Lefebvre misses with a takedown and Slevin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Lefebvre misses with a takedown and Slevin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lefebvre closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Slevin misses with an uppercut. Lefebvre saw that one coming. Lefebvre fails with the takedown letting Slevin counter with a right hand. Tony Slevin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bayard Lefebvre. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lefebvre misses with a takedown enabling Slevin to counter with a crisp jab. Lefebvre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lefebvre tries for a takedown but Slevin circles away easily letting Slevin counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lefebvre has his takedown stuffed and Slevin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Slevin digs a good body shot into Lefebvre's ribs. Slevin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lefebvre looks winded! Lefebvre with a poor takedown and Slevin counters with a nice right hand that sends Lefebvre toppling to the canvas! Lefebvre scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Slevin finish him?!
Lefebvre is rocked! BOOM! Slevin lands a beautiful left hook that drops Lefebvre. Lefebvre tries to recover but Slevin is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Lefebvre lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
