The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith connects with a leg kick. Gunnarsson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Gunnarsson walks into a left hand. Gunnarsson lands a glancing blow to the side of Smith's head. Maurice Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gunnarsson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith. Smith scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Smith throws a nice inside leg kick. Gunnarsson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily. Gunnarsson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Smith connects with an inside leg kick. Smith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gunnarsson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Smith throws a half hearted mid kick. Gunnarsson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith looks to land a right hand but Gunnarsson moved out of range. Gunnarsson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Smith on the side of the head. Gunnarsson shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Gunnarsson 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Smith throws a nice inside leg kick.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Both fighters circling a little - Smith finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A kick lands to the mid section there for Smith. Gunnarsson misses with a low kick. Gunnarsson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gunnarsson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gunnarsson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Smith leaves Gunnarsson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gunnarsson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. No joy there for Gunnarsson , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith cracks Gunnarsson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Smith throws a hook but Gunnarsson blocks it. Gunnarsson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A nice leg kick lands there from Smith. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A nice inside leg kick there by Smith. That's going to slow Gunnarsson down. Smith pushes Gunnarsson away with a front kick. Smith uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Smith throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Gunnarsson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Gunnarsson closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Gunnarsson pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Smith.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gunnarsson manages to avoid it. Nice shot by Smith. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smith scores with a head kick.
It looks like Morten Gunnarsson has been cut. Smith gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gunnarsson . Smith digs a good body shot into Gunnarsson 's ribs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice body kick there by Smith. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith cracks the inside of Gunnarsson 's front leg. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Gunnarsson might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. A cross from Smith lands. Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gunnarsson throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease. Smith let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gunnarsson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Gunnarsson not landing any meaningful shots this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth. Smith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gunnarsson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gunnarsson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gunnarsson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gunnarsson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Smith has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gunnarsson is really squeezing tight and eventually Smith passes out! Gunnarsson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tatli scores with a one two! Cloud had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Cloud throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tatli's waist but Tatli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cloud off to one side. Cloud closes the distance and clinches up with Tatli, looking for a takedown. Cloud pushes Tatli against the cage but Tatli circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tatli appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Cloud keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cloud dives in for a single leg takedown but Tatli sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vic Cloud. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tatli moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cloud keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

He's hooked one of Tatli's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tatli's back! Tatli tries to escape but Cloud has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Now he's in top in Cloud's guard. Tatli prevents Cloud from getting back to his feet. Cloud looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tatli is pushing down on Cloud's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cloud is fighting to maintain full guard but Tatli has managed to sneak the leg through. Tatli is nestled in close to Cloud, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Tatli prevents Cloud from improving his position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tatli in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cloud tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tatli!

I was talking to Caulfield's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Come on Pedrosian - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Pomkai lunges at Herman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Herman's hand. Pomkai lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Herman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Pomkai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Herman misses with a takedown attempt and Pomkai counters with a one-two to the body. Pomkai throws a one two combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pomkai with a hook. Pomkai rushes Herman and presses him up against the cage. Herman fails to pull guard.

Cinotti slips under a jab. Velasquez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Velasquez's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cinotti under the eye. Cinotti takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Velasquez darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Velasquez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. John Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Velasquez connects with a crisp jab. Cinotti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cinotti connects with a nice short shot to Velasquez's temple. Cinotti takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Cinotti tries to pass to full mount but Velasquez defends it. Cinotti is looking for a kimura but Velasquez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cinotti to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nice strikes from Cinotti there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cinotti looks to land a strike but Velasquez avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Velasquez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cinotti. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Velasquez won't allow Cinotti to sweep him here. Cinotti manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Velasquez manages to get himself to full guard.
Cinotti chips away with some ground and pound. Velasquez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bjorkman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rabban looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bjorkman is fending him off so far but Rabban persists. Nope, Bjorkman circles away and we're back to standing. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greenebaum throws an overhand right that lands on I Can's shoulder, as I Can tries to avoid the shot. I Can throws a right and a left that Greenebaum avoids nicely. Greenebaum scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. I Can doesn't seem bothered though. A leg kick checked by I Can. Greenebaum throws a chopping leg kick but I Can manages to avoid taking any serious damage. As Greenebaum backs off I Can throws a huge counter combo but Greenebaum manages to avoid it all.
