The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Larocque misses its intended target.
Hale closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Larocque did well to prevent Hale getting side control.
Larocque gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hale is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Larocque is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Larocque has escaped and now he's on top!
Larocque wants to stand but Hale has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hale has his foot on Larocque's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Larocque works his way back into a safe position though.

Larocque lands a left and a right that send Hale crashing to the mat, dazed. Larocque thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Jasper Hale has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Larocque darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Hale's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Larocque before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
