The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body kick from Smith. Lynn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lynn is looking to clinch. Lynn wants to slow Smith down by chopping away at his legs. Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lynn circles away quickly and effectively. A decent looking cross lands there for Lynn. Smith ducks under a wild hook from Lynn. Smith misses with a leg kick. Smith connects with an inside leg kick. Lynn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage. Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones connects with a leg kick. Winfield looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Winfield fails to land the takedown. A little jabbing left from Jones on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Winfield on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Winfield shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Winfield misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Winfield has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Madz **21 Elite coaches** in the buildup to the fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jules Winfield. That's going to take a lot out of him. Winfield throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily. Jones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Winfield's calf. Winfield throws a jab when Jones was well out of range. Winfield throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it. Jones scores with a spinning back kick! Winfield throws a jab when Jones was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones walks into a stiff left hand from Winfield. Winfield gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Winfield closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jones felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones is concentrating on defense, preventing Winfield from advancing position. Jones pushes Winfield off looking to stand but Winfield dives back in and keeps control.

Winfield drops an elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Winfield lands strikes from half guard. Winfield thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Winfield thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Winfield seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winfield scores with a couple of nice shots. Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winfield. Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Winfield pulls his head out easily. Winfield scoring with strikes to the body and head. Jones trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Winfield loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Jones scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Winfield land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Winfield stands and salutes the crowd.

It looks like Damian Nitschke has been cut. Chelios fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Chelios fails in his attempt to clinch. Chelios looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nitschke lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Chelios at a distance.
Nitschke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chelios as he jumps to the side. Nitschke thows a leg kick but Chelios checks it and Chelios counters with a head kick.
