The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byku fails with a takedown attempt. Byku looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? LaRusso is fending him off so far but Byku persists. Nope, LaRusso circles away and we're back to standing. LaRusso swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnny LaRusso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. LaRusso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Byku shoots in for a takedown but LaRusso shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrzej Byku. That's going to take a lot out of him. Byku moves out of range as LaRusso throws a body kick.

Byku bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Byku tries to advance to mount but can't. LaRusso tries to escape but Byku is in control. Byku has an Americana. LaRusso didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Byku is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Byku hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from manchini misses the target. manchini loads up on a big right hand but Suazo slips the punch. manchini keeps the fight on the outside. Suazo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but manchini circles away quickly and effectively. manchini avoids a punch combination nicely.

A swing and a miss from manchini. No joy there for Suazo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
manchini looks to land a left hand but Suazo moved out of range nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Suazo scores with a punch to the head.
It looks like frederiko manchini has been cut. manchini swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Suazo throws an overhand right that has manchini reeling! Suazo follows up with more punches and manchini is out cold! This one is all over!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dawson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. the tank is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dawson off and has taken his back! the tank connects with a big shot to the side of Dawson's head.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to dan the tank. Well I reckon that's a shut out for the tank, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. "Ole!" shouts Martinez as he jumps to the side.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stubb looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Morgan makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Morgan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stubb. Stubb fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Morgan lands a glancing blow to the side of Stubb's head.
It looks like Michael Stubb has been cut. Stubb uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Morgan. Stubb takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Morgan stuffs the takedown attempt from Stubb. Stubb gets slowly back to his feet. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moskvil slaps away a takedown attempt from Labayen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Moskvil scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Moskvil stuffs the takedown attempt from Labayen. Labayen gets slowly back to his feet. Moskvil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Moskvil shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Labayen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moskvil trying to control but Labayen is working from the bottom. Moskvil wants to get up but he can't break Labayen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Labayen controls Moskvil momentarily but Moskvil frees himself. Moskvil sitting in guard, not really doing much. Labayen is looking to stand back up but Moskvil counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Labayen.

Moskvil controls the position. Moskvil stands up. A decent looking body kick lands there for Moskvil. Labayen looks gassed! Labayen leaves Moskvil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Labayen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moskvil changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Labayen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. A lull in the action here as Moskvil stalls from top position. Labayen is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Labayen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Moskvil has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Labayen is working away from the top position though. Moskvil makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moskvil.

Moskvil postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Labayen to stand up. Labayen misses the shot to the body. Labayen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Carlo Labayen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Moskvil clinches up with Labayen and pushes him back against the cage.
