Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrea Gatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel La Fleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gatti's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, go to sleep-eminem. Andrea Gatti had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 207.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chain drives through and clinches with Hart against the cage.

Chain lands with a left to the head. A nice left hand lands by Chain.

That's going to take a lot out of Rhett Hart. Hart has Chain pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chain manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hart turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hart manages to end up in side control. An elbow from Hart crashes against the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action here. Hart advances nicely into full mount. Hart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hart punching from mount but Chain doing a good job of avoiding damage. Chain tries to hold on but Hart postures up. Hart thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Chain slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Chain is trying is best to control the position here. Hart wants to pass to mount but Chain is defending the position.

Hart stands up and beckons Chain to join him on the feet. Hart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chain manages to avoid it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Chain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hart paws at him with a jab and circles away. Chain has closed the distance and engaged Hart in a clinch.
Chain lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hart tries to score a body lock takedown but Chain shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Chain lands a nice elbow. Chain displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hart up against the cage. Chain manages to pull guard.
Chain is adopting a defensive guard. Hart thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hart has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chain down to the mat. Chain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Chris Chain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chain clinches with his opponent.

Chain manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hart works his way to full guard. Good work. Chain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chain throws a big right hand that misses. Chain preventing the sweep. Chain has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Chain blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hart. Chain is doing well to control the position and prevent Hart from advancing to side control. Hart controlling the pace. Hart throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Evans throws a jab when Green was well out of range. Evans misses the shot to the body. Evans throws a big shot that misses. Evans keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Green displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Evans throws out the jab. Evans cracks Green with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. That was a close second round but I would say that Logan Evans will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopachi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Talpata to score an easy takedown into full guard. Talpata postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hopachi wants to sweep here but Talpata controlling him for the moment. Talpata prevents Hopachi from getting back to his feet. Talpata connects with a couple of short punches. Talpata scoring with some ground and pound. Hopachi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Talpata on the ground. Talpata is looking to work some ground and pound but Hopachi has wrist control. Talpata stands up over Hopachi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pesho Talpata dominated that round. The cut man is working on Apachi Hopachi's cut. That's time! Hopachi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Talpata scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Hopachi tries to clinch up but Talpata circles away and keeps his distance. Talpata bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The strikes coming from Talpata are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Talpata creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hopachi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Hopachi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Talpata wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pesho Talpata has got the better of the ground game so far. Talpata wants to control but Hopachi is keeping him busy. Hopachi on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Talpata landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Hopachi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Fist tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wilson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wilson swats away the attempt to clinch by The Fist. Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but The Fist paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wilson tries for a takedown but The Fist sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Fist as he avoids it easily. The Fist throws a head kick that misses. Nice takedown defense from The Fist. No joy for Wilson on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrus Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice body kick from The Fist. It's a brutal combination of punches from The Fist! Wilson is backing up but he can't get away as The Fist lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Wilson and ends the fight. Great knockout.

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rampage Penn! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn slips a jab and a cross from Marconi .
Penn ducks under a wild hook from Marconi . Marconi lands a left and a right that send Penn crashing to the mat, dazed. Marconi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Rampage Penn has been cut. No joy there for Marconi , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marconi but Marconi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Penn fails to land with a series of punches.
Marconi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Penn counters with a thumping low kick. Marconi fails to land with a series of punches.
Penn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marconi is fending him off so far but Penn persists. Nope, Marconi circles away and we're back to standing. Penn showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Marconi .
Marconi looks to land a combination but Penn avoids it well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Marconi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Penn is out of range. Marconi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Penn misses with the combination.
Penn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marconi . Penn works over Marconi 's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Vincent Marconi has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marconi drops Penn with a beautiful combination! Penn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Marconi is looking for the KO! A nice inside leg kick there by Penn. That's going to slow Marconi down. Marconi is breathing heavily. Marconi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Marconi throws a right and a left that both miss. Marconi loads up on a big right hand but Penn slips the punch. Penn connects with a solid leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn scores with a leg kick.
Penn fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Vincent Marconi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rampage Penn. Penn feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Marconi 's calf. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn. Marconi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vincent Marconi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Penn fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Marconi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Penn. Penn throws a series of strikes that have Marconi backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A solid leg kick lands there for Penn.
Marconi misses with a combination
and Penn counters with a low kick, right behind Marconi 's knee. Penn misses with a jab, cross combination.
A chopping leg kick lands by Penn. Penn lands a jab-cross combination. Penn is looking to slow Marconi down with leg kicks. Penn throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Penn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Marconi is rocked! Marconi seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Penn shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Marconi is backing up but Penn catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Marconi covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Penn Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rampage Penn!

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin Riggs! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggs forces Tabs back against the cage and clinches. Riggs misses with a knee to the head. Tabs takes an elbow to the temple. Knees in the clinch landing for Riggs.
Riggs creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tabs's defenses. Riggs gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Riggs scores a nice knee to the body.
Riggs lands a damaging elbow. Riggs connects with a nasty looking knee right to Tabs's face.
A short uppercut from Riggs. Tabs gets control of Riggs's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tabs will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Riggs has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tabs to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Riggs is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tabs pulls down on the head and he's put Riggs to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nuut closes this distance looking for a takedown but lad circles away. Nuut closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. lad did well to prevent Nuut getting side control. Nuut is trying to control. lad wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nuut decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. lad closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nuut to the mat! Nuut manages to get full guard. lad postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. lad avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nuut escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. lad gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. lad is sitting in close to Nuut's body. Nuut has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! lad is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, lad is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Nuut.
