The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Yolovski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Takayanagi swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Yolovski wants to clinch but Takayanagi slips to the side
enabling Takayanagi to counter with a crisp jab.

Yolovski closes the distance and clinches.

Takayanagi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Yolovski is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Takayanagi to the mat. Takayanagi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Yolovski is looking to pass into half guard but Takayanagi pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Takayanagi is in guard.

Yolovski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Takayanagi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Takayanagi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Takayanagi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Yolovski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takayanagi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Yolovski.

Takayanagi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Meguru Takayanagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yolo Yolovski.

Kosznik has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kaen to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kosznik is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kaen pulls down on the head and he's put Kosznik to sleep! This one is all over!

Nyatok is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Owens dives into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Arnost postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pindolov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arnost, into his guard.

Pindolov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Pindolov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Arnost, up you get!

Arnost darts in and clinches Pindolov up against the cage.

Pindolov wants to break free but Arnost has control.

Arnost turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Arnost manages to end up in side control.

I was talking to Arnost's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Pindolov is looking to break free of the clinch but Arnost has double underhooks.
Pindolov wants to get back to striking at distance but Arnost won't allow it.

Pindolov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Arnost keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Pindolov is trying to break the clinch but Arnost has him pressed against the cage.

Pindolov stands up and waves to Arnost to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to McConnor Gregor.
