Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marty Friedman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gao Silva! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Friedman wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Friedman tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg. Friedman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Friedman is holding on for dear life with his legs. Friedman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Silva throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Silva thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Friedman is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Friedman trying to control from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Friedman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Friedman tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it. Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Friedman napping and manages to drive through into side control! Silva lands a nice forearm strike. Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Friedman tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position. Friedman wants to control but Silva postures up. Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Friedman struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gao Silva dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Friedman throws a hook to the side of Silva's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Friedman swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Friedman sees it coming and defends easily. Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
Friedman wants to sweep but Silva has passed to side control! Silva passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Friedman! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friedman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Friedman is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action. Friedman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Silva sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Friedman tries to hold on but Silva postures up. Silva has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Friedman is forced to tap!

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giurgous Tsotes! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rivera lands in his opponent's guard. Rivera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tsotes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rivera has Tsotes in his guard. Rivera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rivera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tsotes is aware though and is defending well. Rivera looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tsotes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rivera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tsotes has managed to get both his arms back between Rivera's legs - danger averted. Rivera has his foot on Tsotes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tsotes works his way back into a safe position though.

Rivera is staying active underneath Tsotes, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tsotes content to control rather than advance. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tsotes prevents Rivera from improving his position. Rivera regains full guard. Nicely done. Tsotes trying to control the position from guard on top but Rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tsotes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rivera is proving hard to escape from. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rivera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tsotes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. A close second round but Giurgous Tsotes will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Rivera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Rivera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tsotes's guard. Tsotes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tsotes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rivera pushes down on Tsotes's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rivera is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Tsotes still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Tsotes has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Rivera tries to buck Tsotes off but Tsotes is having none of it. Rivera is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tsotes off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tsotes is in a bad position with Rivera working for a choke. Tsotes manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment. And that's the end of the fight! Giurgous Tsotes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tsotes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. That's gotta hurt. cuaresma throws a nice looking combination but Boc bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. cuaresma is looking to score with low kicks. Boc throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Boc really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Boc throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. A head kick misses from Boc. Crunch! Boc slams his shin into cuaresma's torso. An inside leg kick lands from Boc. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from cuaresma. cuaresma steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Boc. That one must have hurt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Boc chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Boc tries to close the distance and clinch but cuaresma swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Boc lands a big head kick that sends cuaresma tumbling to the mat! Boc takes a step backwards and waves cuaresma back to his feet - he wants the finish!
