Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Crunch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Santos had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Santos tries to clinch up and Crunch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Crunch drops his hands momentarily and Santos takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Santos has a takedown stuffed. Crunch pivots, looking for a leg kick but Santos is out of range and Crunch settles back down. Crunch throws a hook to the side of Santos's head but Santos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santos looks for a takedown but Crunch sprawls well. And Crunch responds with a good body kick, but Santos manages to step out the way in time. Santos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Crunch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scarfo misses with a looping left. Rake scores with a head kick. Scarfo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Scarfo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Scarfo shoots for a takedown but Rake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A low kick from Scarfo is predictable there and Rake holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Nice shot by Wright. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wright buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

A lazy left from Kettu finds it's target.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salavez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Jones 's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones lands a nice hook to Salavez's body. Salavez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Salavez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jones ! You can see the frustration on Jones 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Salavez's best efforts. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Salavez connects with a nice short shot to Jones 's temple. My spies in El Tico 's Academy inform me that Salavez has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Oh but Jones is tightening it up a little... Salavez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
