Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Moraes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manres is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Aqualung - Jethro Tull. Ludwig Manres struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ludwig Manres was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergio Moraes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 36 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ludwig Manres! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moraes's corner calls for a 1-2. Moraes obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Manres moves forwards but Moraes connects with a nice, crisp jab. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Moraes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Manres. Moraes seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Moraes drives through and clinches with Manres against the cage.
Moraes tries to work over Manres's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manres gets control of Moraes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Manres will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Moraes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Moraes trying to control the position from guard on top but Manres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Moraes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Manres is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manres trying to keep a closed guard but Moraes is proving a slippery customer.
Moraes wants to control from the top but Manres keeps moving. Moraes looking to sit in guard and control but Manres gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Moraes throws his legs up looking for a submission but Manres uses it to pass to side control.
Moraes takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
My spies in DiscoClub inform me that Manres has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Manres is chipping away with strikes.

Manres has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Manres working away from the top, dropping strikes. Manres has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Moraes's face.

Moraes is bucking up trying to escape but Manres cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Manres working the ground and pound effectively.

Drake lands a body shot. Drake lands a body punch in the clinch. Drake has Bryggare pushed against the cage. Drake stalling the fight.

Drake tries to clinch up but Bryggare circles away and keeps his distance. Bryggare jabbing away but nothing is landing. Drake pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A swing and a miss from Drake. Bryggare misses with a body shot.

Bryggare throws out a loose jab but Drake uses good head movement to avoid it. Drake drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bryggare sprawls and moves away. Bryggare connects with an inside leg kick. Bryggare throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Bryggare throws a hook but Drake avoids it easily. Drake swings and misses with a shot to the body and Bryggare counters with a three punch combo that has Drake backing up. Drake nods at Bryggare to acknowledge the strikes. Drake takes a jab right on the kisser.

Bryggare fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Drake manages to avoid it. Drake lands a jab to the nose. Bryggare takes a shot to the body in his stride.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Karhu has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Paquette.

Kasparaitis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paquette off and has taken his back! Kasparaitis lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
