Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lalla Danda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tino Tait! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Tait. It looked like Danda was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Tait. Tait gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tait pushes Danda off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Tait throws a sloppy head kick and Danda moves out of range easily. Danda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tait avoids it really well and circles away. Tait throws a big counter head kick but Danda avoids it with no problem. Danda avoids the head kick by Tait.
Danda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tait is fending him off so far but Danda persists. Nope, Tait circles away and we're back to standing. Danda avoids the head kick by Tait.
Danda wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Danda throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tait was covering up waiting for the punch and Danda finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tait is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Danda presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tait landing knees to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tait with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Tait tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Danda avoids it. Tait missing with knees to the body.
Danda is trying to pull guard but Tait has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lalla Danda. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tait unloads a knee to the mid-section. Danda tries to pull guard but Tait won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Tait tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Danda pulls guard successfully.
Danda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Danda keeping full guard, as Tait tries to pass. Tait is still trying to improve position. Tait must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tait looking to improve position, pressing down on Danda's thigh with his hand. Danda seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Tait paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Tait's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Danda picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
