Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mokong Kupal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Shamrock! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shamrock swats away the attempt to clinch by Kupal. Shamrock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kupal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kupal avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shamrock. Shamrock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shamrock stands up and beckons Kupal to his feet. Kupal fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shamrock sprawls well initially but Kupal persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kupal is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kupal prevents Shamrock from improving his position. Shamrock trying to hold on to Kupal's head to control him but Kupal postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kupal is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Shamrock looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kupal prevents Shamrock from improving his position. Kupal keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kupal wants to free his trapped foot but Shamrock is holding on for dear life with his legs. Shamrock tries to get to full guard but Kupal has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shamrock takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Ken Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shamrock has his takedown stuffed and Kupal counters with a shoot takedown. Shamrock fights it but they end up in guard. Shamrock looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shamrock working a defensive guard here.
Kupal controls from within his opponent's guard. Shamrock keeping full guard, as Kupal tries to pass. Shamrock trying to control the position.
Shamrock pulls Kupal in to control the position. Shamrock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kupal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kupal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shamrock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kupal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shamrock is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kupal with a nice head shot there. Kupal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shamrock on the ground. Kupal stopping the sweep attempt from Shamrock. Shamrock trying to keep a closed guard but Kupal is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A chopping leg kick lands by Kupal. Kupal swats away the attempt to clinch by Shamrock. Kupal tries for a takedown but Shamrock circles away easily and Shamrock counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Shamrock passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kupal! Shamrock looking to control but Kupal is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kupal is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Shamrock locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Kupal is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Desya lands a nice shot that snaps Nash's head back.
Desya fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Desya throws a right hand that Nash ducks under and follows up with a left that Nash also avoids with ease. Desya gets a takedown into half guard. Nash makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Desya lands a high kick to the side of Nash's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Desya dives into guard, looking to finish.
Nash is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Desya won't allow Nash to get back to his feet. Nash is still in real trouble! Can Desya finish him? Nash is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Desya dives into side control.
Nash seems to have recovered his senses. Desya taking a breather here. Nash is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Desya asserts his dominance and retains side control. Nash sneaks out the side door and pushes Desya away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash throws a left and a right that both miss
and Desya counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Desya. Nash looks gassed! Desya prevents Nash from getting back to his feet. Desya seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Desya won't allow Nash to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Desya decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nash, up you get! A head kick by Nash misses and Desya counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Desya. Desya lands a takedown into guard.
Nash is working an open guard so Desya takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Desya closes the distance and clinches. Nash wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nash wants to break the clinch but can't.
Desya wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nash has him pressed against the cage. Nash manages to break the clinch.
Nash tries to clinch but Desya moves away and Desya counters with a series of strikes. Nash will be more careful next time no doubt. Nash keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nash wants to clinch up but Desya keeps it at a distance. Desya avoids the head kick by Nash.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Desya stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Nash follows into mount!
It looks like Tristan Desya has been cut. Nash stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Desya swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nash throws a jab when Desya was well out of range. Nash lands with a hook. Desya tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Desya blocks a head kick by Nash.
Desya misses with the combination.
Nash connects with a high kick. Desya on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nash is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Desya avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Desya instigates a clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Desya. Desya breaks the clinch.
Ricky Nash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Desya clinches up against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Desya takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Desya keeps control of Nash as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Desya blocking some punches.
Nash scores with a shot to the side of Desya's head. Desya avoiding damage as Nash throws knees to the body.
Desya manages to break the clinch.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Desya knocks Nash out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Junior is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Elliott has managed to free his arm - good work. Junior is working for a kimura but Elliott is defending it quite comfortably.

Junior is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Elliott is just riding it out for now. Junior eventually gives up the hold. Elliott wants to get back to his feet.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Elliott defends it well. Elliott trying to control but Junior postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Junior circles away from the clinch attempt.
Junior moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Elliott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Junior paws at him with a jab and circles away. Junior drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Elliott wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Junior manages to pass to side control. Elliott is trying to stand up here but Junior is controlling him well. Junior passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Elliott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Junior is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elliott has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Elliott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Elliott manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Elliott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Junior. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Elliott is trying to stand.
Junior is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Elliott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Junior. Junior prevents Elliott from standing back up.

Thiago Junior dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Junior shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Junior was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Junior is working for a guillotine from mount but Elliott frees his head quite easily.
Junior goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Elliott turns into him and now he's in Junior's guard.
Junior had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Elliott is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Junior Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Elliott's back instead. Junior has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Junior has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Elliott has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's one minute gone in the round. Junior working for the choke. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Junior is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Elliott is tapping out! This one is all over!
