Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Elf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Dos Anjos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafael Dos Anjos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buddy Elf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafael Dos Anjos!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elf throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Elf uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dos Anjos.
Elf displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Elf pinned against the cage. Elf gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Elf enables Dos Anjos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Elf manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Elf is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dos Anjos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dos Anjos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dos Anjos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Elf looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Elf looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Elf!


Elf has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elf scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Dos Anjos shoots in but Elf avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Buddy Elf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos shoots in for a double leg but Elf sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dos Anjos looks winded!
Elf thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dos Anjos if he has to take too many more of those.
Dos Anjos takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Buddy Elf is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Elf lands with a right that hurts Dos Anjos. Dos Anjos looks to clinch but Elf throws a short knee that drops Dos Anjos. This one is all over!

Robredo moves into range and clinches up with Clay.
Robredo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Robredo lands a hook that snaps the head of Clay backwards.
Clay is trying to pull guard but Robredo has him pressed against the cage.
Robredo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Robredo working hard to break the clinch.
Robredo lands with a short shot to the head.
Robredo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Robredo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Clay backwards.

It looks like Ray Clay has been cut.

Robredo drops Clay onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Clay is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Clay is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Robredo lands a big right hand that drops Clay! The killer instinct kicks in and Robredo finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Robredo!
