Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Williamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaice Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williamson comes into the arena with Iggy Pop - Lust For Life blaring out of the sound system. Kaice Gunn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

23 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.

Gunn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Williamson tries a body shot but Gunn blocks it.
Gunn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gunn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Williamson misses with a double jab.
Kaice Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williamson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gunn on the ground. Gunn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williamson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gunn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gunn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Williamson. Williamson throws a right and a left that Gunn avoids nicely.
Gunn clinches. Williamson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Williamson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Gunn pushes off an throws an elbow but Williamson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Gunn goes for a takedown in the clinch but Williamson prevents it.

Williamson has his foot on Gunn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gunn works his way back into a safe position though. This has been an exciting period of action! Williamson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williamson tries to get out of the position. Williamson wants to sweep here but Gunn controlling him for the moment. Gunn won't allow Williamson to sweep him here. Williamson controls Gunn momentarily but Gunn frees himself. Gunn slips nicely into half guard. Gunn working the head and body with strikes. Ground and pound from Gunn. Williamson wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kaice Gunn dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gunn moves into range and connects with a jab. Williamson takes a swing at Gunn's ribcage but misses. Gunn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Williamson stuffs the takedown. Gunn lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Gunn has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Williamson doesn't defend quickly enough and Gunn has managed to lock this one up! Can Williamson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gunn on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kaice Gunn! Kaice Gunn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

I think Kiely might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mouth For War. Toby has chosen Will Smith - The Fresh Prince as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Toby throws a leg kick and Kiely connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Toby throws a nice looking combination but Kiely bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. It looked like Kiely wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Toby throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Toby misses with a low kick as Kiely jumps back. Toby throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Toby looks for a takedown but Kiely sprawls well. Kiely misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Toby.

Toby is looking to chop away at Kiely's legs. James Toby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kiely turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kiely keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A leg kick checked by Kiely. Toby throws a hook to the side of Kiely's head but Kiely sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Toby looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Toby takes one to the chin there. Some wild striking there from Kiely.

This has been an exciting period of action! Toby lands with a nice body kick. Kiely sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Kiely is breathing heavily. Kiely walks forward, straight into a front kick from Toby.

Toby is trying to work for a kimura but Kiely is defending well.
Toby is taking a breather. Kiely says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Eddie Kiely has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Toby.

He's got his arms around Kiely's waist but Kiely gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Toby off to one side. Toby takes a shot right to the bread basket. Toby lands the left hand. Kiely tries to bum rush Toby with a series of wild strikes but Toby uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice body kick from Toby. Toby scores with a push kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kiely closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Toby dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kiely. That did some damage! James Toby is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Toby fails to land with a series of punches.
Eddie Kiely has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A cross from Toby lands.
And that's the end of the fight! James Toby comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Toby has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Howell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A head kick misses from Antolovic. Howell's corner calls for a 1-2. Howell obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Howell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Antolovic, right into the meat.

Antolovic throws a leg kick that is checked and Howell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Antolovic is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Howell's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Howell lands with a straight right. Antolovic didn't see that one coming. Antolovic walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Howell scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Di Vaio swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Di Vaio scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Patton lands with a good body shot. Patton has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bronson is landing a low percentage of strikes. Bronson drops his hands momentarily and Patton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bronson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Bronson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Charles Bronson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bronson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Patton moves away. Patton looks like he wants to counter punch here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Patton connects with a leg kick. Bronson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Patton scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bronson doesn't seem bothered though. Patton throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Patton lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Bronson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Patton was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Patton throws a front kick that sends Bronson stumbling back into the cage. Bronson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

This has been an exciting period of action! Bronson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Patton.

Bronson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Patton to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Patton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bronson. Good leg kick by Patton there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Patton throws a nice outside leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bronson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bronson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bronson misses with a leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Patton lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
