Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Macdonah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frankie Dupuit! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dupuit shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Macdonah wants to clinch but Dupuit slips to the side and Dupuit counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dupuit accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dupuit drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dupuit jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dupuit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dupuit pushes down on Macdonah's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dupuit thows a huge punch but Macdonah dodges it nicely.
Nice strikes from Dupuit there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Well, if Dupuit is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dupuit tries to pass the half guard into mount. Macdonah knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dupuit works his way into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Macdonah regains half guard. Dupuit is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dupuit throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dupuit is trying to work for a kimura but Macdonah is defending well.
Dupuit is looking for a kimura but Macdonah is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dupuit to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Macdonah is looking to improve his position.
Dupuit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Macdonah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dupuit content to control rather than advance. Dupuit's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dupuit passes the guard and advances to mount! Dupuit misses with a head shot. Macdonah tries to lock up and control but Dupuit gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Macdonah is squirming around, avoiding Dupuit's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macdonah is bucking up trying to escape but Dupuit cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Macdonah has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Dupuit's lack of action.
Dupuit trying to control the pace. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Macdonah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dupuit is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dupuit controlling the action here. Dupuit prevents Macdonah from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dupuit seems to be looking for submissions.
Dupuit wants to control but Macdonah is keeping him busy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Macdonah tries to roll over but Dupuit keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Dupuit dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Macdonah moves away from the strike by Dupuit. Dupuit misses with a hook to the body
enabling Macdonah to counter with a crisp jab. Macdonah tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dupuit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Macdonah's guard. Macdonah is looking to stand back up but Dupuit counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Macdonah. Dupuit is nestled in close to Macdonah, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dupuit is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dupuit has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macdonah tries to kick Dupuit off but Dupuit keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Macdonah connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Macdonah fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dupuit looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Dupuit is breathing heavily. Macdonah looks to clinch so Dupuit counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Dupuit throwing strikes but missing. Dupuit postures up in Macdonah's guard and throws a big left but Macdonah blocks it. Dupuit is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Macdonah is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dupuit preventing the sweep. Frankie Dupuit has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dupuit trying to control but Macdonah is working from the bottom. Macdonah tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dupuit controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Macdonah cracks a nice hook into Dupuit's ribs. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Macdonah connects with a looping right hand.
Macdonah scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Billy Macdonah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Macdonah works over Dupuit's head and body with a nice combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Macdonah will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Macdonah ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Macdonah tries to clinch so Dupuit counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Dupuit not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Macdonah looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dupuit is one step ahead there. Macdonah looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dupuit drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Billy Macdonah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice straight punches there by Macdonah. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Macdonah. Macdonah tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dupuit manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Macdonah throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dupuit counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dupuit. Dupuit takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dupuit trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dupuit sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Macdonah's guard. Dupuit is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Macdonah has managed to free his arm - good work. Macdonah tries to get to full guard but Dupuit has control of the leg. Dupuit throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dupuit is working for a submission of some sort.
Macdonah pushes Dupuit off looking to stand but Dupuit dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macdonah manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dupuit slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Macdonah throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Macdonah doesn't manage to clinch there - Dupuit circles away.
Dupuit drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Macdonah defends it well. Macdonah tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dupuit swats him away and circles back towards the center. As Macdonah backs off Dupuit throws a huge counter combo but Macdonah manages to avoid it all. Macdonah feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dupuits jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Macdonah tries to clinch but Dupuit moves away and Dupuit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Macdonah's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dupuit trying to control but Macdonah is working from the bottom. Billy Macdonah has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Macdonah wants to sweep but no luck.
And that's the end of the fight! Frankie Dupuit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dupuit has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson moves into the clinch. Henderson breaks from the clinch.
Henderson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Aldo tries to keep at a distance but Henderson has taken the fight into the clinch. Henderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Henderson pushes Aldo up against the cage in a clinch. Henderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Henderson rushes Aldo and presses him up against the cage. Henderson breaks from the clinch.
Henderson closes the distance and pushes Aldo back into the cage. Aldo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Henderson regains guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Henderson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Aldo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Henderson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Aldo drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Aldo seems to have locked his on tight now - Henderson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Aldo, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Jose Aldo! After winning the bout, Jose Aldo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
