Mendez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mendez manages to end up in side control.

Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Crazy's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Crazy has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Royal clinches up with Bremner and pushes him back against the cage.
Bremner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Royal gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bremner is trying to push Royal away but Royal has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Royal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Royal motions for Bremner to come forward. Royal throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bremner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Royal is fending him off so far but Bremner persists. Nope, Royal circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been hearing good reports from Royal's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bremner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Royal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Royal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
