The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darko shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Darko.
Darko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Darko somewhat.
Lee swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Darko has Lee pressed against the ropes, preventing Lee from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Darko is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Nice takedown defense from Lee. No joy for Darko on that attempt.

Darko gets tackled into the ropes by Lee. Lee maintains the clinch.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Darko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Darko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Darko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Darko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lee! But no joy.
Lee cracks Darko with a good jab.
Darko takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lee stuns Darko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Darko goes for a takedown attempt but Lee pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Lee drops Darko with a beautiful combination! Darko stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lee is looking for the KO!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Lee dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lee is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Darko flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Darko is out cold! Lee holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
