The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maia to the mat! Maia manages to get full guard. Souza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Maia is retaining full guard. Souza trying to control but Maia is working from the bottom. Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Maia is retaining full guard. Souza preventing the sweep. Souza works a leg free and moves into half guard. Souza wants to pass the guard but Maia is defending well. Maia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Souza working over Maia with some ground and pound. Maia looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Aldo is trying to stand up here but Sopa is controlling him well. Sopa trying to control the action but Aldo is working from the bottom. Sopa is breathing heavily. Aldo is looking for a sweep. Sopa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Aldo wants to control but Sopa is keeping busy and won't allow it. Takaki feints a jab and as McKinney dips his head, Takaki unleashes a brutal head kick that catches McKinney right on the jaw! Timbeeer! McKinney falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Takaki smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Farley ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Cruz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Cruz throws a strike but Farley avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Farley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cruz wants to control from the top but Farley keeps moving. Cruz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Farley is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz has gone for a leg lock! Farley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cruz's guard. Farley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cruz is proving hard to escape from. Farley cracks Cruz with a solid left hand. Farley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Farley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ravn is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Pastroyka is working hard here to advance position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Thor Ravn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ravn misses with a looping right. Pastroyka throws a right and a left that both miss. Pastroyka moves out of range as Ravn strikes. Pastroyka takes the fight into the clinch. Ravn with an attempt at a knee that misses.
