Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demian Holm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blanco Rosso! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rosso shoots in for a double leg but Holm sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Horrible takedown attempt by Rosso or perhaps it was just good defense by Holm, which made it look bad. Rosso takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Rosso fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Holm went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Demian Holm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blanco Rosso. Jab from Holm. Rosso changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Holm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rosso trying to control the action but Holm is working from the bottom. Rosso remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Holm tries to improve position but can't. Holm is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Midnight MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Rosso is looking to take a break and control but Holm is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Holm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rosso on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rosso is trying to get an arm triangle but Holm is defending well. Rosso controlling the position from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Let's hope that Rosso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like Rosso might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Rosso is looking to take a break and control but Holm is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Blanco Rosso will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rosso closes this distance looking for a takedown but Holm circles away. Holm misses the jab. Holm leaves Rosso with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rosso gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Holm to counter with a crisp jab. Demian Holm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blanco Rosso. Rosso fails with a takedown attempt. Rosso shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Holm pinned against the cage. Holm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Holm. No joy for Rosso on that attempt. Holm swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Blanco Rosso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Holm sends Rosso crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Holm is motioning to the referee to let Rosso up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Blanco Rosso has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rosso is holding his hands too far apart here. Holm throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Rosso is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Naoki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Allen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Naoki sprawls and moves away. Allen dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Naoki looks to land a combination but Allen avoids it well. Allen looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Naoki throws the kick towards the body but Allen avoids it. Naoki tries to clinch but Allen moves away and Allen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Allen is looking to work some ground and pound but Naoki has wrist control. Allen trying to control but Naoki is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Naoki seems keen to control Allen's posture.

Allen throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Naoki to regain full guard. Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Naoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Allen stopping the sweep attempt from Naoki. Naoki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Naoki lands a leg kick that knocks Allen off balance momentarily. Naoki misses with a shot to the body and Allen counters with a big head kick but Naoki shrugs it off. Naoki goes for a double leg but Allen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Allen continues to drive forward. Naoki darts in and clinches Allen up against the cage. Allen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Naoki is defending well. Allen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Naoki prevents it.

McConor bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. McConor slips a straight right by The Prodigy. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A looping hook to the body misses from McConor. The Prodigy does a little dance to reset his feet. The Prodigy attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. McConor has managed to clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sato scores with a shot to the body.
Sato throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've been told by Sato's head coaches at LOD: Xtreme MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Sato lands a really nice looking cross but Brown seems unphased.
Brown tries for a takedown but Sato circles away easily and Sato counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A combination from Brown does no damage. Brown fails to land the takedown. Brown scores with a takedown into Sato's guard. Sato wants to get back to his feet but Brown is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Brown works over Sato with some ground and pound from guard. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sato is looking to stand up but Brown isn't so interested in that idea. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
