The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison looks to land a right hand but Maximov moved out of range. Maximov with a poor takedown and Harrison counters with a good low kick that Maximov was not able to check. Maximov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Harrison throws a series of strikes that have Maximov backpedaling.
It looks like Ivan Maximov has been cut. Maximov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Harrison to the ground. Maximov is now in Harrison's guard. Harrison has control of Maximov's left arm, preventing Maximov from doing any damage. Maximov pushes down on Harrison's leg and manages to get into half guard. Maximov is looking to take a break and control but Harrison is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maximov connects with a nice short shot to Harrison's temple. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harrison can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maximov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Harrison has managed to free his arm - good work. Harrison is positioning himself well to prevent Maximov advancing to mount. Maximov is looking to take a break and control but Harrison is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Maximov is trying to work for a kimura but Harrison is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Maximov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Maximov seems to be working for a kimura but Harrison defends the submission attempt. Maximov wants to pass to mount but Harrison is defending the position. Maximov landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maximov connects with a nice short shot to Harrison's temple. Maximov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Harrison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maximov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Harrison is refusing to be controlled, as Maximov sits in half guard. Maximov is thwarting Harrison's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maximov is working for a kimura but Harrison is defending it quite comfortably.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Maximov with a lazy takedown attempt and Harrison counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Maximov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maximov misses with a takedown attempt - Harrison sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Harrison throws a low kick but Maximov moves out of range easily. Maximov shoots in for a takedown but Harrison shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maximov. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dan Harrison will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ivan Maximov's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Harrison scores with a hook to the body. Maximov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Maximov goes for a double leg but Harrison avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Harrison continues to drive forward. Harrison throws a nice inside leg kick. Maximov shoots in and drives through. Harrison sprawls well. Harrison scores with a body shot.
Ivan Maximov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harrison scores with a jab. Maximov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Ivan Maximov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Harrison connects with a solid leg kick. Harrison uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Harrison connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Maximov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harrison swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Maximov. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maximov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Harrison fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Maximov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Harrison walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Maximov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Harrison has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maximov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Maximov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Harrison connects with a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison drops Maximov with a big left hand! Maximov is injured, injured bad! Harrison jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws out a loose jab but Mccann uses good head movement to avoid it. Mccann misses with a takedown attempt - Peterson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A swing and a miss from Peterson. Mccann shoots in but no luck this time. Peterson stuffs the takedown attempt from Mccann. Mccann gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kieren Mccann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mccann slips a straight right by Peterson. Mccann staying out of range there. Peterson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson throws a shot from downtown. Mccann moves away and avoids it. No luck for Mccann with that takedown attempt. Peterson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Peterson lands with a straight right. Mccann didn't see that one coming.

Mccann shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peterson pinned against the cage. Peterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mccann. Mccann avoids the body shot from Peterson.
Mccann seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mccann steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Peterson. Peterson throws a nice looking combination but Mccann bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Peterson misses with a hook. Peterson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Peterson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson looks to land a left hand but Mccann moved out of range nicely. It looked like Mccann was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Peterson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mccann fails with a takedown attempt. Mccann fails with an attempt to clinch.

Peterson let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Mccann throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mccann keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Peterson. Peterson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A swing and a miss from Peterson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mccann misses with a takedown and Peterson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson connects with a body shot that sends Mccann's belly button to the back. Danga de danga de dang - Peterson scores with a four punch combination! Donk. Peterson catches Mccann right on the button with a cross. Mccann misses with a wild combination.
Mccann shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mccann takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mccann is breathing heavily. Peterson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Peterson swings widly with a right hand
and Mccann counters with a two punch combo. Peterson misses with a straight left. Mccann changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Mccann manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Peterson throws a right and a left that both miss. Mccann half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mccann blocks a jab. It looked like Mccann was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mccann ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mccann uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peterson. Mccann takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Mccann shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily. An inside leg kick from Mccann misses. Nice defenses there by Mccann. Mccann appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Peterson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mccann uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Peterson. Mccann misses with a body kick. Peterson punishes Mccann's body with a nice straight punch. Mccann tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lamont Peterson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Peterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peterson wants it to stay on the feet. Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mccann uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peterson. Kieren Mccann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mccann shoots and misses and Peterson counters with a stiff right hand. A telegraphed right hand from Peterson misses the target. Mccann slips a straight right by Peterson. Mccann shoots for a takedown but Peterson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Peterson looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kieren Mccann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peterson keeps the fight on the outside. Some wild striking there from Mccann.

Mccann shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peterson but Peterson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccann tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Peterson to counter with a crisp jab. Lamont Peterson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Peterson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mccann moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Mccann was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Mccann fails to land the takedown. Oooooh!!! Peterson has knocked Mccann down with a huge combo! Peterson steps away and waves a wobbly Mccann back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Mccann is rocked! Peterson pounces like a tiger and cracks Mccann with a vicious hook! Mccann is down but not out! Peterson follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
