The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels looks to score with a jab to the body but Vance is just out of range. Michaels misses with a double jab
enabling Vance to counter with a crisp jab. Vance gets tackled into the cage by Michaels. Michaels maintains the clinch. Michaels blocks the elbow strike.
Vance throws a punch but it's blocked by Michaels. Vance lands a shot to the body. Vance lands with a left to the head. Michaels has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Vance after a bit of a struggle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vance lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Michaels gets control of Vance's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vance really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Michaels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Michaels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vance tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Michaels wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Michaels creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Michaels has knee on belly and moves into mount. Michaels tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Michaels connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Weber thows a leg kick but OToole checks it and OToole counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Oh Weber is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

He's got his arms around Mulder's waist but Mulder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jr off to one side. He's persisting with it as Mulder sprawls well. Mulder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Mulder just misses with a punch to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mangrove chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mangrove tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Diaz appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Diaz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Mangrove moves out of range of the strikes. Mangrove has his takedown stuffed and Diaz counters with a shoot takedown. Mangrove fights it but they end up in guard. Mangrove working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Diaz is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Diaz is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mangrove.
