0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Townsend! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Townsend doesn't manage to clinch there - Barbosa circles away.
Townsend throws a head kick that misses. Barbosa lands with a hook. Townsend tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Townsend has taken the fight to the clinch.
Townsend jumps guard and drags Barbosa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Townsend looking to control.
Townsend throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Barbosa escapes and throws Townsend's legs to the side, diving into side control! Townsend shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Barbosa counter with a right hand. Barbosa scores with a hook. Barbosa thuds his right hand into Townsend's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Townsend shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barbosa as he avoids it easily. Townsend keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barbosa. Good shot there by Barbosa. Barbosa missing with a left hand there. Townsend was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Barbosa leaves Townsend with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Barbosa throws a hook to the side of Townsend's head but Townsend sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Townsend throws a lazy head kick and Barbosa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Townsend throws a leg kick that is checked and Barbosa counters with a nice uppercut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Townsend with a lazy takedown attempt and Barbosa counters with a three punch combo that has Townsend backing up. Townsend nods at Barbosa to acknowledge the strikes. Townsend wants to clinch up but Barbosa keeps it at a distance. Barbosa feints and then cracks Townsend's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Townsend down. Barbosa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Townsend sees it coming and avoids it easily. Townsend is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Nice body punch from Barbosa. Townsend clinches with his opponent.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barbosa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Townsend moves forwards but Barbosa connects with a nice, crisp jab. Townsend closes the distance and clinches up with Barbosa, looking for a takedown. Townsend pushes Barbosa against the cage but Barbosa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Townsend takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Barbosa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Townsend can do to turn this around? I think Uneksija might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ozzy Osbourne - Hellraiser. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uneksija misses the jab. Uneksija throws a looping overhand right but Thorsson ducks down to avoid it. Thorsson tries to clinch up but Uneksija circles away and keeps his distance. Thorsson gets a double leg takedown into Uneksija's guard. Thorsson is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uneksija is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at HFC Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Powell postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
