0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Trigger! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuska gets the takedown into side control. Trigger looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Tuska lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Trigger down.
Tuska has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tuska lands a decent elbow from side control. Tuska is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Tuska's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tuska stands up and beckons Trigger to his feet. Trigger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tuska manages to avoid it. Tuska looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tuska chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Trigger can pounce on him.
No joy there for Tuska, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tuska throws a head kick but Trigger moves out of range.
Tuska forces Trigger back against the cage and clinches. Trigger tries to land a knee to the head but Tuska blocks with his arms.
Tuska prevents Trigger from breaking the clinch. Tuska breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trigger misses with a takedown and Tuska counters with a takedown into side control. Tuska cracks Trigger with a big elbow. Trigger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tuska wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Tuska landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Trigger is trying to buck Tuska off. Trigger is looking for a sweep. Tuska stands up. Trigger tries for a takedown but Tuska sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Trigger gets caught flat footed, as Tuska shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tuska pushes down on Trigger's leg and manages to get into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Tuska moves into full mount! Trigger won't be happy about that! Trigger wants to control but Tuska is having none of it. Tuska content just to control the position here. A nice elbow there by Tuska.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuska postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Trigger looks a forlorn figure.
Tuska controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trigger is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tuska has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Trigger is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body kick from Galiev. Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Johnson just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A head kick from Galiev lands but Johnson takes it in his stride. Galiev lands with a kick to the ribs.
Galiev throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnson's head. Vener Galiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Galiev looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Johnson! Galiev looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Galiev working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Galiev wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Galiev is working hard here to advance position. Johnson stands up and waves to Galiev to follow him. Johnson misses with a kick to the body and Galiev counters with a body kick that stops Johnson in his tracks momentarily. Galiev closes the distance and clinches. Galiev connects with a knee to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galiev gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Galiev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Galiev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Galiev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Galiev passes into half guard. Johnson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Galiev. Galiev prevents Johnson from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galiev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Galiev throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson tries to hold on but Galiev postures up. Galiev lands a big shot there that rocks Johnson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Galiev's attempts to control the action. Galiev working for a submission but Johnson is keeping him at bay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Galiev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. Galiev thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Galiev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Galiev working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Galiev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Galiev tries to advance to mount but Johnson denies him. Johnson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Galiev passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Johnson! Galiev tries to control but Johnson wriggling away. Galiev looking to secure an arm triangle but Johnson defends it well. Poor strikes thrown by Galiev there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Galiev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head. Johnson trying to hold on to Galiev's head to control him but Galiev postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Galiev scores with a sloppy right hand. Johnson should have avoided that one. Johnson wants to clinch but Galiev slips to the side and Galiev makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Johnson really felt that one! Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Galiev counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Galiev pushes him off. Galiev misses with a body kick. Johnson tries to land a front kick but Galiev steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galiev takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Johnson tries for a takedown but Galiev circles away easily and Galiev counters with a slapping leg kick. Galiev blocks the body kick.

Galiev fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Johnson on the side of the head. Galiev scores with a spinning back kick! Galiev gets a takedown into half guard. Galiev thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Galiev is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Galiev not landing any meaningful shots this time. Galiev is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vener Galiev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Galiev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Galiev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Galiev eventually gives up the hold. Galiev is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Galiev is trying to work for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

Johnson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Johnson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Galiev couldn't care less - he's delighted!

He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, White has managed to free his arm - good work. Still trying to control from half guard but White is working away. White is trying to maintain the position but Still is very close to passing his half guard. Still is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so White is just riding it out for now. Still eventually gives up the hold. White tries to get to full guard but Still has control of the leg. Still wants to pass to mount but White is defending the position. Still is working for a kimura but White is defending it quite comfortably.

Still lands a couple of elbows. Still lands a couple of digs. White can't keep his opponent in guard - Still advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Still is tying to control. White wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Still working over White with some ground and pound. White looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Still prevents White from improving his position. Still is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. White doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Still. White has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Still is working away from the top position though. Still has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can White defend it? Still steps over the head and cranks it - White is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Still!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peltonen pushes Ronin up against the cage in a clinch. Ronin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Peltonen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ronin's brow. Ronin tries to land knees in the clinch but Peltonen avoids the damage to the body. Peltonen has picked Ronin up - he's going for a ride! Peltonen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Peltonen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Peltonen trying to control the action but Ronin is working from the bottom. Peltonen wants to control from the top but Ronin keeps moving. Ronin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Peltonen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ryan Ronin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This has been an exciting period of action! Peltonen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ronin gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Peltonen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Peltonen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Ronin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ronin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peltonen's guard. Peltonen wants to hit a switch here but Ronin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Peltonen there! Ronin prevents Peltonen from getting the reversal.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saunders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Remington swivels and escapes. Remington stuffs the takedown attempt from Saunders. Saunders gets slowly back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Remington as Saunders shoots in. Mike Remington has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Saunders. A punch combination from Saunders misses. Saunders changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Remington tries to avoid it but Saunders manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Remington to the ground. Remington escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Remington lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Matt Saunders has been cut. Remington misses with a jab, cross combination.

Saunders stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Remington. Remington throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Remington throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Remington circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Saunders drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Remington follows Saunders to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuusela gets to his feet - Mcblast follows without any prompting. Mcblast throws a nice outside leg kick. Kuusela forces Mcblast back against the cage and clinches. Mcblast tries to land knees in the clinch but Kuusela avoids the damage to the body. Mcblast pressing his opponent against the cage. Mcblast keeps control of Kuusela as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kuusela jumps guard.

Kuusela decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kuusela is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcblast defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuusela takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kuusela decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kuusela. Kuusela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcblast moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mcblast throws a head kick that misses. Mcblast tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kuusela throws a right and a left that Mcblast avoids nicely. Mcblast gets caught flat footed, as Kuusela shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kuusela would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kuusela throwing strikes but missing. Kuusela lands a couple of elbows.

and Karzamoff counters by gaining double undehooks. He picks up Silverman and carries him across to his own corner. OH, that's a monster slam and Silverman is out cold! A brutal end to the fight and credit to Karzamoff for not following up with any more shots. He recognised that Silverman was out. Good sportsmanship.
