Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Flick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Slovakia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flick comes into the arena with Hank Williams Jr- I'd love to knock the he'll out of you blaring out of the sound system. Alexander Slovakia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slovakia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Flick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Slovakia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Flick, into his guard.

Slovakia decides to stand back up. Slovakia steps back and let's Flick get back to his feet.

Flick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Slovakia walks away with a smile on his face. Flick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Slovakia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slovakia wants it to stay on the feet.

Slovakia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Flick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slovakia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slovakia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Slovakia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rod circles away quickly and effectively.
Rod closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Rod pushes Carter against the ropes but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carter digs a good hook to Rod's body.
Carter scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Gilbert Rod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carter lands a two punch combo.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rod.
Carter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carter.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
