1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bo Paitich! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ronld gets caught flat footed, as Paitich shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ronld wriggles free and stands up. Ronld gets a takedown into half guard. Ronld looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Paitich looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ronld controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Paitich looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ronld missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ronld working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Paitich's thigh. Paitich counters though and makes it back to full guard. Paitich working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Paitich has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ronld can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ronld looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Paitich wants to take the fight to the mat but Ronld manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Paitich must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Horrible takedown attempt by Paitich or perhaps it was just good defense by Ronld, which made it look bad. Paitich misses with a takedown attempt and Ronld counters by clinching up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Amirkhani as Lobov shoots in. Amirkhani went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Amirkhani displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lobov. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amirkhani. Lobov has managed to clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dark shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schwarzwelder as he jumps to the side. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dark. Dark throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schwarzwelder's waist but Schwarzwelder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dark off to one side. Tomas Schwarzwelder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dark Dark. Schwarzwelder leaves Dark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Schwarzwelder tries to counter with a takedown but Dark is quick to defend against it. Schwarzwelder lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schwarzwelder wants it to stay on the feet. Dark staying out of range there. Dark drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Schwarzwelder defends it well. Dark drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Schwarzwelder pulls Dark in close to prevent any damage. Schwarzwelder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Schwarzwelder is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dark defends well.

Dark won't allow Schwarzwelder to sweep him here. Dark with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Schwarzwelder tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dark should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Dark working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Dark throws an elbow that misses. Schwarzwelder uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dark's guard. Nice move by Schwarzwelder!

Dark is doing well to control the position and prevent Schwarzwelder from advancing to side control. Schwarzwelder looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dark with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Schwarzwelder thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dark is controlling Schwarzwelder's trapped leg to prevent Schwarzwelder from advancing to side control.
