Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ned Bigsbee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Truck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bigsbee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gin & Juice. Corey Truck told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Truck fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bigsbee to the ground. Truck is now in Bigsbee's guard.
Truck wants to control from the top but Bigsbee keeps moving.
Truck works over Bigsbee with some ground and pound from guard.
Truck lands a couple of elbows.
Bigsbee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bigsbee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Truck looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Truck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bigsbee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Truck pinned against the cage. Truck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Truck tries to counter with a clinch but Bigsbee shakes him off and moves away.
Corey Truck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Truck doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Bigsbee looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Bigsbee works to advance to full mount. Truck defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Truck has left one of his arms exposed and Bigsbee doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Truck screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarpa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rokka scores with a jab. Scarpa acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Rokka as Scarpa shoots in.
Scarpa swings widly with a right hand
and Rokka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A jab from Rokka finds it's way through Scarpa's defenses.
Rokka slaps away a takedown attempt from Scarpa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rokka appears to be looking for a big counter.

Scarpa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rokka to the mat! Rokka manages to get full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rokka manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Rokka has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Rokka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Scarpa fails with a takedown attempt.
Antero Rokka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregory Scarpa.

Rokka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rokka crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Scarpa - the referee stops the clock and Rokka gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Scarpa. Rokka manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Scarpa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scarpa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aoki is looking to control Brandao's arms but Brandao gets an underhook and turns him. Now Aoki has his back to the cage.

Aoki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brandao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Aoki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brandao is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Aoki working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Brandao is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Aoki asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Brandao definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
