The bell rings for round one and we are underway! momo fails to land the takedown. momo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. momo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Man bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps momo's head backwards. momo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Man sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for gogo momo. That's going to take a lot out of him. momo tries to close the distance and clinch but Man swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Man throws a nice looking combination but momo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. momo tries for a takedown but Man sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Man. momo does a little dance to reset his feet. Man misses with a two punch combination.

Man manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Man rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but momo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Man defends well against a solid takedown attempt from momo. The Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. momo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Man.

momo fails with a takedown attempt. Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. momo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Man.

He's persisting with it as Man sprawls well. Man wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. momo gets slowly back to his feet. momo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Man is looking to get back to full guard here but momo has managed to pass to side control instead. momo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Man turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips momo off and cradles Man's limp body as momo celebrates with his corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dresser tries to bum rush Morton with a series of wild strikes but Morton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dresser misses with a wild body shot. Morton lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dresser's sensitive parts. Dresser misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dresser throws a hook to the side of Morton's head but Morton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cross Dresser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Dresser, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dresser jabs at Morton's body. Dresser gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Dresser throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morton. Morton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Morton prevents Dresser from improving his position. Morton works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dresser, who protects the arm well. Dresser tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Morton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Morton working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Dresser taking a bit of punishment here - Morton scoring with strikes. Dresser is trying to get back to half guard. Morton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Morton tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dresser's legs. Morton tries for a kimura but Dresser is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Morton tries to bum rush Dresser with a series of wild strikes but Dresser uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dresser misses with a double jab

and Morton counters with a left and a right that stings Dresser. Dresser throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Morton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dresser won't be happy with that. Sloppy strikes there by Morton.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morton advances to full mount. Dresser looks gassed! Morton sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Morton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dresser is on top in guard.
Morton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dresser is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricky Morton dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dresser is breathing heavily. Morton is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Dresser with him. Dresser is trying to defend but Morton has an arm under the chin now! Dresser grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Smith looks to land a combination but Marshall avoids it well. Marshall looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well. Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch. Smith is leaning against Marshall and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Smith prevents a takedown attempt there.

Smith passes Marshall's left leg - he's now in half guard. Smith is taking a breather. Marshall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Marshall makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marshall. Jim Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith is stalling in the full guard. Smith trying to control but Marshall is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
