Russell Johnson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kostic takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kostic throws out a loose jab but Lockhart uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lockhart moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Lockhart feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kostics jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Kostic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Lockhart counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kostic thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Josh Lockhart is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kostic shoots in for a takedown but Lockhart shows good takedown defense.

A nice right hand lands inside from Lockhart.

Lockhart breaks from the clinch.
Lockhart defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kostic.
Kostic tries a head kick but it misses.
Lockhart looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kostic is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Jeez, Andrija Kostic's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Lockhart tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kostic swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jab, jab by Lockhart - just one landing.
Kostic fails with the takedown
and Lockhart scores with a counter punch that sends Kostic to the canvas! Lockhart smells blood - he's punishing Kostic with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Kostic has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
