The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mays is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mays throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Karzie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mays has a closed guard, preventing Karzie from standing up. Mays looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Karzie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Karzie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Karzie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mays is trying to control Karzie's posture but Karzie avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Karzie decides to stand back up. Karzie steps back and let's Mays get back to his feet. Karzie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Karzie working the ground and pound but Mays is defending the strikes. Mays struggling a bit here. Karzie stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice sprawl there from Karzie as Mays shoots in. Mays shoots in for a takedown but Karzie shows good takedown defense. Karzie throws a right and a left that both miss. Mays looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. And that's the end of the fight! Kammy Karzie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Karzie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Insane tries a head kick but it misses.
Insane moves in looking to clinch but Maier pushes him off. Maier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Insane sprawls well. Insane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maier gets slowly back to his feet. Insane doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maier counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Maier prevents Insane from standing back up.
Insane pushes Maier off and gets back to his feet. Maier avoids a punch combination nicely.
Maier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Maier thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Maier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Insane manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maier has Insane in his guard. Insane trying to stand up but can't free himself from Maier's guard. Maier has his foot on Insane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Insane works his way back into a safe position though. Maier looking for a guillotine here but Insane defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Insane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Insane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Insane wants to stand but Maier is controlling his posture from full guard. Insane stands up from guard. Let's bang! Insane gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Insane won't be happy with that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maier tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Insane wants to get back to his feet. Maier has hold of Insane's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Insane tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Maier cranks the arm and Insane screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Insane, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
