The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKenna lands the left hand. Starker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McKenna just misses with a punch to the body.
McKenna scores with a decent looking hook. McKenna chopping away at his opponent's legs.

McKenna loads up on a big right hand but Starker slips the punch. McKenna throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight stays on the outside here - Starker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKenna throws a head kick but Starker moves out of range.

A slow jab from Starker misses its intended target. As Starker backs away, McKenna returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. McKenna's corner calls for a 1-2. McKenna obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. McKenna misses with a hook. McKenna chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McKenna getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Starker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Starker tries to clinch but McKenna moves out of range. A little feinted left hand from McKenna on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Starker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

McKenna fires out a quick counter leg kick but Starker just manages to avoid it. Starker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. That kick from McKenna tenderised Starker's leg. Starker is trying to keep his angry face on. McKenna throws a hook but Starker blocks it. Starker staying out of range there. Starker tries to counter with a clinch but McKenna shakes him off and moves away. Starker clinches up with McKenna and pushes him back against the cage. Starker struggles to land a body shot inside as McKenna controls his hands.

Starker tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Starker swings wildly with an uppercut but McKenna uses good head movement to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Starker tries to clinch but McKenna is having none of it.

McKenna throws a jab when Starker was well out of range. Starker misses the jab. McKenna throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A telegraphed right hand from McKenna misses the target. Starker tries to counter by closing the distance. Starker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Starker checks a low kick from McKenna. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Starker lands a nice shot that snaps McKenna's head back.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McKenna. McKenna throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. McKenna connects with a right hand. Starker shakes it off. A jab from Starker finds it's way through McKenna's defenses.
Jeez, Gus McKenna's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolov slips under a jab from Pate. A good leg kick by Pate. Pate has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight. A jab from Pate misses. Pate ducks under a wild hook from Kolov. Kolov catches Pate with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Kolov falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Pate counter with a right hand. Kolov scores with a jab to the body. Kolov shoots in for a takedown but Pate shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pate moves into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kolov. Pate has Kolov pushed against the cage. Pate pushes Kolov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Kolov swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Pate lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kolov. Kolov is trying to force a seperation but Pate has the dominant position. Pate is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kolov can do to turn this around? Pate presses Kolov against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ragnarsson. Davis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Ricky Davis has been cut. Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ragnarsson moves into the clinch. Davis manages to pull guard.
Ragnarsson wants to stand but Davis is controlling his posture from full guard. Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ragnarsson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ragnarsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ragnarsson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ragnarsson preventing the sweep. Ragnarsson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ragnarsson defends well.

Ragnarsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davis is on top in guard.

Taran Chula has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lorne Greenebaum is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chula changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Chula dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Greenebaum rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chula moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Greenebaum looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chula is fending him off so far but Greenebaum persists. Nope, Chula circles away and we're back to standing. Greenebaum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chula pinned against the cage. Chula gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Greenebaum feints and as Chula raises his hands in defense, Greenebaum changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Greenebaum slips nicely into half guard. Chula has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Greenebaum is working away from the top position though. Chula is looking for a sweep. Greenebaum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chula keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Greenebaum is nestled in close to Chula, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Chula is trying to get back to full guard. Ground and pound from Greenebaum.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Greenebaum content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Greenebaum is trying to control the action in half guard but Chula is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Chula blocking the ground and pound attempt from Greenebaum. Chula is looking for a sweep. Greenebaum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Greenebaum throws a strike but Chula avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
