The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco leaves Overeemed with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Overeemed.
Overeemed moves to clinch but Franco breaks away
and Franco counters with an inside leg kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Franco as he connects with a hook.
Franco bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Alistair Overeemed has been cut.
Overeemed misses with a takedown
and Franco counters with a left to the body.
Fredrick Allen Franco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alistair Overeemed.
Franco lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Overeemed at a distance.
Overeemed wants to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Overeemed looks winded!
Overeemed takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Overeemed with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Franco to score with a decent uppercut.
Franco connects with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Overeemed loses concentration momentarily and Franco pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Overeemed crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Franco finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Silva throws out a powerful jab.
Vadeli misses with a hook to the body
and Vadeli takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That has opened up Fedor Vadeli's cut even more.
Vadeli throws a hook but Silva blocks it.
Vadeli loads up on a big right hand but Silva slips the punch.
Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vadeli.
Nice jab there from Silva.
Silva throws a series of punches but Vadeli moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vadeli moves into range and connects with a jab.
Vadeli slips a jab from Silva.
Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vadeli.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Vadeli has eaten all the pies!

and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva misses with a hook. Vadeli ducked under it nicely.

Fedor Vadeli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

The cut above Fedor Vadeli's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Vadeli closes the distance but Silva moves to the side
and Vadeli takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Silva misses with an uppercut. Vadeli saw that one coming.
Silva moves out of range as Vadeli strikes.
Vadeli throws a lazy uppercut
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Vadeli tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Vadeli misses with a hook
and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Silva is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva cracks Vadeli with an open hand slap.

Fedor Vadeli's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva throws a series of punches but Vadeli avoids them all with ease.
Vadeli slips under a jab from Silva.
Silva misses with an uppercut. Vadeli saw that one coming.
Vadeli misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Vadeli throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease.
A little feinted left hand from Silva on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vadeli looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fedor Vadeli's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Lucifer shoots in for a takedown but Slater shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Slater lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Brad Lucifer has been cut.
Slater connects with a nice looking jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Slater has closed the distance and engaged Lucifer in a clinch.
Lucifer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Slater walks away with a smile on his face. Lucifer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Slater stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Lucifer tries to pull guard but Slater holds him up against the cage and eventually Lucifer drops back down to his feet.
Kyle Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Lucifer.

Slater has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lucifer uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slater working for a triangle but Lucifer defends it easily.
Slater is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Slater looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lucifer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lucifer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lucifer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lucifer tries to pull guard but Slater holds him up against the cage and eventually Lucifer drops back down to his feet.
